Hi ghostheads, just wanted to know what you fav gb car is, it can be one you have or someone(besides columbia) has made, but if you do that please provide a link to a pic! Oh and my fave the classic Ecto-1 !

the ecto 1 wasn't supposed to be some sort of high tech car. it was meant to look like an old junky ambulance that barely ran. for those with making ghostbusters, look at the quote from harold ramis on page 67. "... it's funnier to see them in an old ambulance that barely runs." ecto 1a kinda ruins this image with all of the scrolling billboards and such. weren't the GBs supposed to be like broke in GB2, anyway? don't get me wrong, i love both cars, but ecto 1, to me, is my fav.

in reguards to the debate over which Ectomobile is the better of the 2, a good question! the ecto-1 served its purpose well, plain, somewhat simple yet appealing. the ecto-1a however attempted to chart unexplored territory with advertising, ectoplasmic detection & alot of lights. some of the possible reasons that people favour the ecto1 ove the 1a might be that the ecto-1 had the blue lights with one red, the 1a defied all rules of ghostbusting and painted itself with every coulor of the rainbow. they shouldve kept the blue in there, and if they wanted, a hint of green. all of us have to agree that the scroll boards were completely un-nessicary. in my heart i belive that the kicker was the extremly large satillite dish placed high up in the middle of the roof to replace the red ecto scopes. the reason that the 1a screws the alotment of us up is because all equipment shown on it is now half the size that it was originally with technological developments over a decade. try not to compare 12 years to now. it just doesnt work. loose the dish, the scroll boards and we might have something here. never the less if i had the cance to buy it, i would take up that offer in a second! just a little insight that weve all had.

I have to disagree back, I belive that the 1a was just fine like it was and teh Scrolling Marcquee was a needed to advertise more.

I liked the scrollers on the side but other than that the ecto-1a had too much on it... especially the gawd-awful rainbow lights... red & blue is all it needed...
so, I say the original's better

ecto-1 and 1a...dunno, since its the same car (at leat in the movies.  ), i like both designs. uuuh, i remember the feeling i had while first-time-seeing of the ecto-1 moveout in gb1...and the feeling while looking at the 1a version in gb2...(:
