Why the heck did Winston leave the court room scene when the Scoleri brothers appeared???

mabey because he stillthought the restraining orders on them were still active, thus he could not do anything, and unlike our heros  , winston has commen sense and got the heck outta there!

I can't think of an explanation for being absent when they were drilling the hole (maybe on a date or something though?) but how many proton packs were present in the courtroom scene?
I can't remember, but maybe they only had three...

Well, Winston was depressed from the pathetic party gigs, maybe he was at a bar the night they were drilling. And during the courtroom scene, his parking meter could have expired so he went out to pay it. Just a thought.

The other ghostbusters weren't planning on staying either I think but I think they felt kinda cornered behind their desk and no place to go but under it. and if U recall, they did try to run away and escape through the back way but it was closed.

There's an omitted scene where Winston tries to get up to the guys but with everybody leaving he couldn't make his way back so got stuck outside with everybody. I don't see why it was omitted. Yet the restraining order thing does make sense (Winston is awlays trying to keep himself out of trouble when it comes to the GBs. In GB1 he wanted his own lawyer.).

Seems I only recall seeing one proton pack on the table, or 3 at most. I wouldn't doubt that Winston had another job, maybe as a security guard or something, and only stopped by to wish his friends well. After all, I've worked birthday parties before, and you can't make a living at it. Honestly, it never dawned on me before.

Remember in GB1 when they were locked up? he told them: "I gotta have my own lawyer." ...thus he had different charges laid. possibly more harsh. but personally, it doesnt matter to me. he shouldve been there! imagine what kind of scene that wouldve been, ummm, whats the word? ...AMAZING! but its still pretty good.

I always thought he said "Boy he's tough." and then left. Left the courtroom. He's not involved at all.
And he wasn't helping them drill because he's not a scientist he dosen't care. Although in RGB we do see his dad is a construction worker, and in the pizza episode he says "Egon remember what happened last time we tried to build a road?"
And the "restrangement" order point, and the deleted scene are very interesting. And I agree that they did try to escape.

Some funny points people, but yes the real reason was given by Slim Slimer, so listen to him.
I know lots of people have bad things to say about GBII. Besides maybe a few odds and ends (I don't know of any movie that I can't critique atleast a little, except maybe 'Life is Beautiful'...) the only thing I hated in GBII was the early lack of involvement with Winston. He's at the kiddy party, then he's gone! You get to see everyone else's new jobs, why not him? Give whatever explanations you want inside the movie, it's ovbious Dan and Harold just didn't care about Winston as much as they should have (hell Louis is a more important character). I know RGB could occasionally give Winston the short end of the stick as well, but on the whole writers brought Winston up to par with the three 'main characters' of the movie.

I would say that Winston didn't stayed in because he just wasn't part of the case. He wasn't there when they drilled the hole so he wasn't under the courtroom's order to be part of the legal procedures...
Though the deleted scene of Winston trying to get back to the courtroom after the Scoleri Brothers appeared seemed to be interesting... They should do another edition of the GB2 DVD like the first one... except with much more stuff in... or even put a director's cut of both movies... Hey, it worked for Superman didn't it?
