Why is it ilegal to sell props?

out of curiosity...has anyone ever tried to get permission to sell props from the holders of the copyright? where would you even start to look?

ive done it a few times, u start by contacting the comapny, then get redirected to a buch of places, the oens i tride for i never accpeted they wanted to much...after the batmobiles done im gonna try and get one going on it

2 years ago i made a stormtrooper suit out of sintra plastic and george didnt come to colorado to sue me he never even knew
