Official Freddy vs. Jason Thread *Trailer Now Available-5/9

I have always imagined how Jason feels, wandering the earth destroying everything for the loss of his only love, Pamela who was everything to Jason, his ENTIRE world. And that is why I am excited about Freddy vs. Jason... in a way, this subject needs to be explored. BUT...As I've stated before, Kane Hodder CAN emote those feelings as well as Jason's rage with a single glimpse of his eye.
The success of FvsJ (in the fans point-of-view) depends on these two most important factors:
1. Make the movie scary as hell!
2. Don't change Freddy and Jason. Add to them, but don't change them!
So far, New Line has made it a point to make this movie scary, that's a plus. And they have also made it their mission to return both icons to their darker roots and motives, but the downside to that for Jason is that while they are doing good by showing his hidden pain, they run the risk of ditching what it is we have come to love about later Jason, his ablity to take NO $hit from anybody! When Stokely Chaffin mentioned "Tussles" with victims, images of Sidney Prescott wrestling with "Ghostface" came to mind, and Jason falling through tables while chasing after some teen. While it is true that Jason and The Shape have had "Tussles" with victims in the past (Most of which were in their earlier films), I believe that it was due to their inital inexperience, Michael and Jason are NOW masters at what they do and no longer have a need to "Tussle". Freddy has "Tussles" all the time because that's what he LIKES to do.
In the end, New Line should mix the best of both Jasons, to give him the proper send off (if this is the last time we see Jason.) What I have learned in my years of hanging around fridaythe13th websites is that Friday fans love to have consistancy among the films, and with this being the ULTIMATE sequel, now is NOT the time for New Line to put their personal (or Financial) desires ahead of the fans by recasting the role, Kane Hodder has been the only Friday constant of the last 14 years and we need him there on that set to represent Friday the 13th in an otherwise Nightmare on Elm Street affair.
But, all that aside. I welcome this film with open arms and will be there opening night with an open mind, we've waited TOO FREAKING LONG for this movie. It will NEVER be as perfect as we all dreamed it would be (and Kane's absence proved that to me) but atleast they are trying to do something right by it, just remember, we could have had a film written by Lewis Abernathy
However I cannot get over the fact, as you can probably tell, How Kane was shafted of the role, Certain teeny bopper actors and actresses now being involved, and most importantly the change of Jason's character just sounds like a piece of steaming, stinky stanky crap to me.
The news of Brad Loree probably taking over the role as Jason isn't even a suprise to me at this point. One positive, as I've said.. It's suppossed to be scary.
Finally, all I have to say is this better not suck... obviously New Line couldn't care two craps about what the fans think of this franchise.. (Look at the inconsistancy.. the crappy writing.. etc.)(and before you start, I know New line did not make all of the friday films.) As i said, I will be in line for this movie, but as a fan of Jason and VERY few of his films, and a fan of Freddy, and 75% of his films, if this movie sucks.. I am washing my hands of New Line Cinema.. for good.

I think you and I are the only ones on this site who actually take Freddy adn Joson serious enough. I like what you have to say and would you like ot help co-write the Freddy vs Jason vs Ghostbusters story with me? I'll need some help for this story.

Now i can't believe i missed this. Kane has been replaced? I thought that was just rumor. Damn!
Now that really sucks. I was really hoping to see Kane and Robert at each others throats. I had a really cool pic of them doing that in a issue of Fangoria earlier this year. Did i understand you right about there being a brand new director as well? Cause last i heard was Ronny Yu (i think) was directing. What other news do you have?
(Just to let you know, if you read my Rendezvous at Crystal Lake series, picture Kane Hodder as Jason, instead of Richard Brooker, Ted White or CJ Graham.)

The thing that pisses me off the most is the main reason they replaced Hodder is because he is to tall...They want someone shorter so he looks more equal to Freddy. LAME

Why try and make Jason shorter anyway. Isn't it the point to have differences between that way it's more appealing to see who wins. If you ask me I think it should Jason vs. The Shape instead. They are both very similar in the way they do things and I believe that will be the ultimate match-up. If Freddy should fight anyone it should be Chucky. They both throw out wise cracks after wise cracks. They may have different methods of inflicting death but it would be kinda weird to see Freddy have a one sided conversation with Jason. Altough the Darker Freddy is the less he talks and the more killing he does. I've been very anxious to see this movie. Two questions I have to are
1. How will Jason fight Freddy? Freddy comes out in peoples dreams. Jason does not sleep. The only conclusion I can think of is that someone pulled Freddy out. (On a side note I read a scrip by one of the guys who got rejected and it was very interesting. Jason was still killing but these kids managed to yell "Stop" and Jason actually listened. Something that is kind of humorous seeing no one has done that in the past 10 Friday the 13th films.)
2. Was the purpose of putting Freddy's Glove in "Jason Goes to Hell" to hype the Freddy vs. Jason movie or was something completely different. I always have to ask that when I see it because it intrests me when crossovers happen.
If you haven't noticed by now I am a big Horror Fan myself. I am also a die hard HalloweeN fan. Well hopefully I can find answers to these questions.

Well in my mind I think it should by Michael Myers vs Jason and Freddy vs Pinhead. I think it would have been neat to see that happen. Oh, and Chucky vs the Leprechaun (now that would just be funny to see)

I wish I had the power to delete posts, and GB Freak's would be the first to go..(Please do not post anymore on this thread, I beg you, but for some reason I don't belive you'll respect that request.)
Proton Pack 666, in response to your post.. I couldn't agree with you more. When I wrote, "have a take and don't suck.." that was the kind of post I had in mind as (not sucking). Very nicely done/stated. It's nice to find someone with an outlook like mine. It was very sad when I found out Dr. Loomis died.. he, like J.L Curtis defined the Halloween series. anyway, once again.. very nice.

ok guys here is my 2 cents.
its the new millenium as much as i hate to say being a fan of slasher flicks it woint make much money the halloween movie didnt wich it shouldnt have been made considering that he died in h20 the new jason movie didnt do 2 good those things where an 80's thing and even tho they are coming back the 80's arent here yet completely

Well, I think that the Halloween franchise is a million times over better than A nightmare on elm street or Friday the 13th. They atleast, explain themselves. Let's just say it's some what possible, but come on, Jason coming back to life,EVERY TIME... that's what I think anyway.

Some Big News for you if you didn't know. Me being a Juggalo and my friend going to al the comic/horror conventions all the time Kane Hodder (Jason) has become a good friend and he says that he isn't going to be playing Jason this time around cause they want him to have emotions (So Fred can get to him I guess?) Either way thats bad news. Also for anyone who knows Jamie Madrox (Twiztid) is supposed to be scoring the Picture.
