Venkman in the movies, Zeddemore in the cartoons.
That said, Winston has the best line in GB1 in my opinion:
"Uh, if there's a steady pay cheque in it, I'll believe anything you say."

Egon is my favorite. When I was younger, when my friends and I would play with our toy proton back and traps, I was always Egon, well because I was the only one that had glasses and I had the thick puffy hair like Harold Ramis.
Well, still have the glasses, but the hair is shorter now.

In RGB - Winston or Egon, Winston has his amazing driving skills and all, and gets to drive Ecto like a madman, ut Egon just has the style "Oh Egon, you're such a genius. I know."
GB1 - No contest, Venkman cant lose.

Ray is class, Winston is quiet and chilled, Egon loves his P.K.E Meter, BUT PETE VENKMAN IS THE BEST

ray. he's a compleate sweetie and always takes the fall when things go wrong who wouldn't want a friend like that and i guess i can relate to his childish side . peters just too jokey for me egon to much of the techno babble and winston is just winston (if you like winston i'm not dissin him) ray is innocent but intelligent a good combination and he's the heart of the ghostbusters and he understands slimer what more could you want in a ghostbuster

Mine would have to be Pete from RGB, Winston from the movies. I personally thought Bill's Pete was way obnoixous. For RGB second would be Winston though. Ray and Egon are tied in RGB for third for me.

From the two movies, definitely Venkman. Sharp, sly, sarcastic, and completely unflappable: a great combination in my book. Ray is a close second.
From the RGB, Peter again. Same mouth, same quick-wit, but somewhat lacking the caustic edge of the movie character - still all good. And again, Ray is a close second for his sheer enthusiasm and good-natured tolerance.

I love'em all but,my #1 faves have to be both Ray and Egon.Peter and Winston would come second.
