I can help you out with the doors and the pedal. I used thick construction paper, yellow and black. it looks great to me. you could also use spray paint and just tape off the parts that you dont want to paint.

The pedal is fun to make. I used plywood, .25 inches for the 2 boxes and .5 inches for the piece inbetween. For the actual pedal, use .25 inch plywood, then cover it with sandpaper and add strips of balsa wood for the realistic effect. for the spring, i cut a piece of medal from a hangar and bent it in a circular way. i then used a black “book sock” to cover the spring. If you want to add lights, just ask and i'll tell you.

I thought the trap was so much more fun to make than the proton pack. if you have any more questoins, just post and i'll reply.

I dont know anything about electronics but i managed to put a light in the pedal. in one of the boxes i put a 9v battery accessed by a side that comes apart by a simple screw. i then wired a touch switch under the pedal, so when you step down on the pedal, the light is turned on. in the same box as the battery, just put in a small red light and connect everything with wires. I also managed to wire a blinking red light and a 12-bar light at the end of the trap. i am an electronics idiot but i still managed. just post if you have any more questions.

yes, follow cpu64's plans. I did, and it looks awesome. No ghostbuster can be without a trap.
p.s. i made the trap before the pedal and one halloween a kid pointed out the fact that i didn't have anyway of opening the trap. “boy the kids are sharp these days.”
