If you're using AOL Instant Messegner, stop using it right now! AIM has a virus, and it can destroy your computer! This is not a joke!

I repeat, if you are using it… GET OFF OF IT!

What, you mean log off, or destroy it completley?

And is AIM releasing a bug-fix?

That's really bad news. One of the pieces of software I use the most is AIM. Oh well. There are always alternatives.

Actually let me correct Ectodude, its a hole in the AIM system, it only affects you if you have Windows, however it will be fixed soon and its ok to use as long as you only talk to people on your buddy list.

To semi-quote TechTv's TechLive. There is a hole in AIM. AOL says there work diligently to fix it. They hope to have a patch very soon. It was discovered by a computer science major who playing around with the appliaction. A temporary fix to this is go to your preferences adn privacy, then click only accept IM's from users on your buddy. Then hit apply, then Ok.
