I will however end on this note: The game is not cancelled. They got Bill Murray to reprise Peter Venkman. They got the whole team together. It's been the talk of the forums for months. Bill Murray has been talking about it, a lot, on the chat circuit of recent.

I have actually been viewing all those interviews. They were all supposed to involve his new movie “City of Embers,” but at the end of every interview someone always asked about Ghostbusters the game or the rumors about Ghostbusters 3.

All the interviews more or less have Bill saying that he had a lot of fun with the game voice overs and that he says more or less he would do a voice over for Ghostbusters 3 if it so happens to get green-lighted.

I think my favorite one is where he says “Well, I think it is time that the wounds from Ghostbusters 2 have healed” or something along those lines. My personal opinion that though, I loved Ghostbusters 2. Sure it wasn;t as good as the first one, but it wasn't THAT bad. V_V

Actually, he hasn't been saying he'd do a voice over for Ghostbusters 3, as its being talked about as live action right now… so he's saying he'd strap the pack back on and get back on screen, which is even more exciting!

Doesn't mean that somewhere, someone won't do something stupid. Sure, they've gotten almost everyone to reprise their role, but Sony is a big business, and despite all that, something could still happen.

Personally, I agree with Scott and wish they'd come out and say that they're still looking or something.

And on top of what Dan said… I believe you may have mistaken my point, which was that Bill Murray has been talking about the game in the public media, and considering how enthusiastic it seems to have made him Sony would be a bunch of complete morons to generate that type of hype and then not capitalise on it by pushing the game through.

Jonathan, is there a button on your person that is stuck on ‘complain’? Why do you have to constantly look towards the worst possible turn of events? Didn't you learn anything from Monty Python?

And please, don't immediately reply with Duke Nukem as your main source of reasoning. That's one game and, let's be honest… I bet you Ghostbusters will still have some sort of following after the Duke is long forgotten.

Don't know, didn't watch, and honestly, whats so damn wrong with wanting Sony to come out and say that they're still looking for a publisher and that the game is okay? It'd be better then not hearing any news at all.

What do you expect, seriously? It was said before its not canceled. Do you need them to hold your hand and check in every month on the 1st of the month to tell you that a publisher isn't found yet? Then you'd just sit there and bitch that its taking them so long and “it worries you that they haven't found one yet… this doesn't bode well for the game”.

You're unbelievable dude. Really. I don't think we've had someone as negative as you are on the boards in a LONG time, if ever. What good is being this negative doing you? Are you gonna skip out on the comic tomorrow cuz it will make you want the game more and make you even more upset? Cuz if its just going to illicit a response involving “Man this is a great comic, but it just makes me madder that Craptivision has decided not to publish our beloved game. Those jerks!” then please, really… skip it. We have something very positive coming out tomorrow, and all you can do is be the most negative person possible.

I'm surprised you haven't started bringing up the fact that the guys are getting older, and that they better get all their voicework done for any future games or projects before they all have simultaneous heart attacks and die.

And that was said /3/ months ago, not like it was said just a month ago, if it was, then I wouldn't be griping, and all that was said was “Ghostbusters will be published” Quite a vague statement at that.

As for the comic, no, I have every intention on getting it when I can, at least one company can keep a release on time, and I want to support IDW for that whole heartily.

Yet that's exactly what you're asking of Sony right now. They don't have any information they can give you.

Jonathan Archer;130073

So saying that “Ghostbusters will be published” is vague, but saying “We're looking for a publisher, the game is fine.” is not vague?

You contradict yourself majorly. You want them to issue a statement, but you don't want it to be vague. Well that's all you're going to get. If they came out and said anything right now, it would be exactly what has been said or some variation thereof. “Ghostbusters is not canceled. It will be published.”

There's no publisher to announce yet, so what other than that can they say?

If they came out and said that same thing right now, which is all they can say, you'd just complain that they're not telling you anything new, which they can't. Do you not understand that there is a process to these things, and that its just unfortunately taking longer than most of us would like?

The game is not canceled. It can't be said enough. Nothing said yet suggests its canceled. There is no reason for such extreme negativity about every little thing that doesn't get a friggin press release.

This is just like when you were freaking out because your comic shop didn't have Ghostbusters on their list, and immediately started claiming it was delayed/canceled. There is absolutely no reason for this.

Funny, I went back and looked at my post, and I said I hope I didn't get the shaft on the comic, I didn't say that it was delayed, I said I hope that my store was carrying it, nowhere did I say the comic was delayed.

And at least them saying it now would still confirm that the game was still okay instead of them being very tightlipped about the subject, especially around the month where the game was supposed to be originally released before the publisher ditched.

He's talking about your Lonestar topic, not the post you made earlier on this page. Anyway, nobody's had a problem with people wanting Sony to come out and say something. Everyone wants them to tell us something… but the thing people have had a problem is, the constant whining.

Now as for being tightlipped, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Non-Disclosure Agreement in effect until the deal's settled, prohibiting any prospective new publisher from talking about it.

But seeing as there's still about 7 days to one of the dates the game was supposedly meant to be released on, and a further 17 days to the end of the month, there's ‘still time’ for an announcement to be made before November begins.

And if there isn't one by November 1st, well… not much we can do about that.
