Aykroyd and Ramis - older and older.

Hi, everyone!
I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the age factor in the entire discussion revolving around a potential (but unlikely) GB3. Now, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson are in all likelihood not as spry as they used to be, and from what I understand good ‘ole Harold is decidedly fat (let’s not even get started on our beloved Ray Stantz). Does anyone think that this should really be enough of a reason to scrap the old team (if a new movie were ever put out), for some new ghostbusters? Or would the new team perish as did the Extreme Ghostbusters?
Also, what would you all think about maybe using Oscar (yes, little Oscar, who should be about 12 or 13 years old now) for a part in such a hypothetical movie?

Thanks for reading, folks! I'm new to the boards, but hope to get involved quickly!

“According to this morning's reading, it would be a twinky thirty-five feet long weighing six-hundred pounds.”
“That's a big twinkie.”

I definetley think age and physical status definetley factor into the believability of GB3. In my opinion, GB2 was getting close to borderline as far as that goes (no offense to anybody – but it's true). Also, I'm not so sure using Oscar in the third movie would be a good idea. I mean, yeah, it would be interesting to see where he ends up, but that's pretty much where it ends. More of a novelty role, in my opinion.

Aykroyd's in pretty good shape. Ramis is a little on the portly side, Murray as gone gray and lost more of the ‘do…but he’s been known to slap on a rug for parts. Ramis would have to drop the beard and about fifty pounds if he is still as I saw him a few months ago on TV.

Annie Potts and Signourney have aged gracefully. Both are still stunning and remain quite talented actresses.

Huh…I guess it's up to the makeup and/or prosthetics dept.

Come on now people. We ALL get older. Look at it this way….the GBs would age in their world (Tv world). Dan can still dance even though he's a different shape than he used to be, but he can still do the moves. If the GB guys were serious about their jobs in their world and they stuck with it instead of getting other ones, then it's very believeable that they'd still be pulling it off. So they got older and bigger, etc? Does that really affect their job to blast ghosts? Unless the equipment gave them bad backs, lol. But there's jobs out there today where guys still lift heavy stuff and all that, so it's really no difference.

They might not LOOK as appealing to people as before, but with the right script, they could do it. I'd love to see one written these days that actually showed them ALL (I wish) and how they changed physically and mentally.

Remember the debates about the original Trek cast and when Roger Moore began to look like he needed a walker for his last two Bond flicks? Hollywood is pretty fickle about these things. So are audiences. I have no doubt they all could carry a picture, but these are the things money-bags are thinking about as they plan what to do next.
