Is there really a big difference between the R-701's and the R-501's? I've never seen them before so I can't compare. They both look the same to me.

There shouldn't really be any noticable differences.. they are both made differently, to do different things.. but they look the same.

Thanks AJ. I noticed that the 2 models were called out, one for the gun and the other for the pack itself but didn't really see a difference in the two.

Actually, the R-501 wasn't ever proved to be on the pack or gun. The actual models were the R-701(gun), and the R-331(Pack).

Actually you can buy both of those valves from the Clippard website.

R-331 http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=R-331

R-701 http://www.clippard.com/store/display_details.asp?sku=R-701

They are affordable there too. Eastprops is more exspensive and they don't offer you the R-331.

I just want to make sure I buy the right stuff. I'd hate to get my pack finished and up on the prop site and have someone say “Nice pack dude but the Clippard valves are wrong…”

It's all about the details!

As soon as we sell off our remaining flow control valves then we'll start offering the Model R-331, along with the other two we currently sell. wink

you could always make your own… find some travel size head and shoulders shampoo bottles… peel of the lables, take of the cap paint it metalic alluminum, spray the top and sides of the bottle with the paint, tape up the top and about 1/4" of the sides paint the rest of it gloss black and then print off a label

I heard somewhere that somebody was experimenting with a bottle of white out, though I'm not sure the dimensions are even in the ball park.
