He's saying that given the amount you've posted here, plus your avatar, going so far to specifically comment that Ghostbusters is your religion says to him that you have no other personal identity beyond Ghostbusters.

I don't know how he can comment on my personal identity. He doesn't know me. He isn't aware of my entire personal identity, only one peice of it which is my Ghostbusters fanaticism and that is because his only exposure to me as a person is through this particular site. For instance, my avatar displays the Ghostbusters logo because I like it and because beleive it or not this is a Ghostbusters site, so it kind of makes sence to use it here. I regularly visit many other sites which have nothing to do with Ghostbusters where I use avatars which are related to the site in question. I also hope he didn't take it literally when I announced that Ghostbusters was my religion. I don't pray to Aykroyd, worship Gozor or anything like that. It was a joke which I thought was pretty obvious. I do have a huge passion for Ghostbusters though!

And now back to the topic!

So what you're saying is…you make a deliberate effort to be as anonymous as possible and not stand out in any way?

Fair enough. I just think it's annoying when we already know everyone here is a Ghostbusters fan and you have to go out of your way to say how much you love and think about Ghostbusters.

I enjoy nothing.

Well that's a lie. You wouldn't spend time with Jeff or Jen if you didn't enjoy their company. You wouldn't have faught so passionately defending Nightsquad if you didn't enjoy it doing it back in the day.
You wouldn't have spent all those years on Bill's board and Net's if there wasn't something you enjoyed.

Some times your tough guy persona makes you come out with some real howlers.

I do love my friends but they're not always here.

But everything you mention AFTER that is PAST TENSE. I find it hard to find things enjoyable around this community these days.

So yes, I really don't enjoy anything from a everyday life standpoint. Which is the main reason I haven't nailed down any sort of long term career. I hate everyone and everything seems stupid to me.

Adam Bestler worships Cosmic People I hear.

I'm assuming the agnostic people are voting for yes? Otherwise theres a bit of a disporportionment amongst the people replying and the people voting.

Who the fuck told you that? Everyone knows I worship Pan, the Goat God.

I'm here more than anyone else and all you want to do is sit on the internet and talk to other people while I'm stuck watching the same crap on TV because you get mad when I turn it off. :p

Anyway, according to my avatar, I'd fall into the ‘neo-pagan’ category. I'm spiritual but I wouldn't say I'm part of a religion. (now watch people try to argue with me that you can't be one or the other.) Really, whether or not you believe in God, religion at it's very basest of base is to be good to each other and help when you can. You don't need to go to church to know that's not such a bad idea.

I do think that there is a force out there that we can harness to an extent and receive aid from, but it's something that you have to be a little proactive with. Is it God or is it you? Maybe both?

Now I will finish up with a religion joke. (it's clean!)

A town is flooding. A truck drives by a 2 floor house and sees a man inside. “C'mon, the dams have broken and the water is coming this way!” says the driver. “No thanks, God will save me.” says the man. A couple hours pass - now the water has all but consumed the 1st floor of the man's house. A rescue crew in a raft come by and see him on the 2nd floor. Again he turns down the help saying “God will save me.” The waters have almost reached the roof, the man is now sitting in the rain, all he has are the clothes on his back. A helicopter flies by, drops a rope ladder down and still the man refuses. As the waters creep up the roof, the man cries out to Heaven “Why have you not saved me, Lord?!” to which God replies:

“I sent you a truck, a boat, AND a helicopter! What more do you want!”

Where did I say that I make a deliberate effort to be anonymous as possible? I make no effort to be anonymous nor do make any effort to stand out in any way. If I wanted to be as anonymous as possible I wouldn't have used my real name as my screen name now would I? Nor would I have my email address on display in my profile.

I wouldn't class a single sentence post describing Ghostbusters as my religion (and it was a joke) as going “out of my way to say how much I love and think about it”.

It's alright, Matt. People got it was a joke. You're just getting your buttons pushed, so better to just let it go.

Usual threads about religion usual fall apart over dogma and doctrine, so this is amusingly unique.

Lets' steer this back to a show of hands or telling Jen humans can't be inherently moral with religion or something.

Oh lord whatever next! Whether you found it funny or not is beside the point. The point is that I was not being serious. :p

And now on with the topic…
