i just finish watching the back in the saddle parts and were they planning on keeping the orginal ghostbusters in the team if the season worked out?

With the Firehouse being sprayed for bugs, Egon is forced to move in with Eduardo. The arrangement is complicated with a troll on the loose in the city and Eduardo's brother responding as part of the NYPD.
Episode 36: Heart Of Darkness
A recent spate of thefts of electrical equipment and a set of priceless crystal skulls bring Egon into contact with an old associate, Dr. Edward Kirilian.

What do you mean ‘worked out’, exactly?
According to one staff member they were only contracted for one series… and it looked like the RGBs were gonna head back to their dull and deadend lifestyles after Back in the Saddle.

I think out of the whole set, only 2 of them are (last one and somewhere in the middle)
