What is the difference between the Special Edition and the Collectors Edition which was released this month?

Whoa.. never seen this..

There is a new Ghostbusters DVD being released on Feb. 19th.. called the collectors series.. It appears to have all the same things.. if not less then what the original DVD had..

There were actually new GB DVD's released on June 29th, 1999.. Dec. 26, 2000.. and now Feb. 19, 2002.. this may explain the differences between the disks for those who bought each one..

I have the 99 collectors edition GB1, oi…yeah crappy cover, made new all black one for both the DVD's all black with large GB1 or GB2 logo's on the front centered… meh…

Ever notice the stance that Venkman has on the cover of the GB2 dvd is the same as the one he has on the back of the GB1 dvd, where hes standing on ecto?

That is the same picture of Venkman, notice that the cover of the GB2 DVD has the same picture of the guys as the Ghostbusters poster. My guess is the person that was supposed to make legit covers got bored and handed a couple of story books to their 3 year old and had them do the new covers.

The difference is based on the region the DVD is release in. Here in the U.S. (Region 1) the DVD is known as the “Collector's Edition” while in places like Europe and Australia it is known as the “Special Edition”. I may have mixed the two up, but you get the idea, it's the same thing.
