I'm going to see Ecto 1 next Sunday! Along with Dan Aykroyd's Proton Pack and suit he wore in the Ghostbusters movies! I can't wait! They have it on show at the Henry Ford Museum. So if anyone lives in Michigan go check it out!

Sorry to let you know, that's not the actual Ecto-1. Its a really nice replica, but its not the actual one that was in the movies. That one was recently restored and is on a road tour right now going around to various conventions and stuff.

The frigging Star Cars museum (it appears to be their replica on display).

You'd think that with the real Ecto-1 having been restored, someone from Sony might have finally stepped in to say “No”, especially at the amount of money they spent on fixing up the real thing.

I don't care if it's the actual Ecto-1 or not. Why you guys always negative?

We're not being negative, we're just letting you know that its not the one from the movies so you don't get over excited about it. Like I said, its a really nice replica, but I'd definitely be more excited about seeing the movie car than seeing a really nice replica. Just wanted you to be prepared.

As long as it doesn't get sold a few days before it's due to arrive at the car museum, I think you're good to go. Do post some pictures later on.

Arrives? Doesn't the Star Cars Museum just always have it there?

Arrives at the Henry Ford Museum is what he meant, I assume.

I'd go out of my way if it were the real Ecto-1. Replicas are nice (especially the on I saw at Play.com), but as it's a car that's had a dubious past of being claimed to be the real thing, I don't really want anything to do with it.

I was, in fact, recalling my experience earlier this year with the Great Lakes Ghostbusters Car, or should I say lack of experience; it had been sold 3 days before it was scheduled to arrive at that Lemonade Stand thing.

My brother and I have sat in the backseat of the actual Ecto-1 back in 1989 when Hardee's was promoting the second film, I still have the pictures in one of my photo albums.

Also, last year my wife, sister, and I all went to visit my mom in Texas because she lives down there during the winter and when we were all out and about I saw an Ecto-1 sitting in this guy's yard. I also met Shawn Michaels at the Dallas airport on the way to San Antonio.
