Does anyone know anything about what type of siren was used and where I might look to find one? My friend and I recently bought one of the promo cars from the 2nd film. IT is a ‘68 Caddy ambulance but from what we’ve been told, it was actually used in the film for interior shots of the car, and then the exterior was fixed up for promotions. We even found a couple of 8x10s of Ernie Hudson under the front seat! It still has the lights and logos and a rack for the stuff on top but none of the actual doodads. We've put together a setup for the rack and gotten all of the lights working, but we're trying to find the siren. Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the siren from the movie, was jsut a sound made for the movie it does not exsit in real life, and i hate to tell you but the 68 cad was not a promo car for the film, and interior shots of the car, was done with the real 59 cads made for the film, most likly what you got is a fan made replica using a 68 cad.

Im with sg1star on this one, but there is a 73' growler siren model# C5-G. on the Ecto-1. doesnt work though.

As far as the Siren goes, There is some .wav files etc. out there that people use to get the sound.

Whatever the source of the car, we're trying to fix it up and want to find a siren. We even thought about trying to copy the sound off the DVD and loop it on a CD and play it over a PA, but there's always music in the background when it's on. And unfortunately, we don't have the equipment or know-how to seperate it. If anyone finds out where to get that sound (wav file or whatever) please let me know.
As for the pics, I do have some, just haven't had a chance to scan them.
