Ecto-1/A type-warning-light-paraphernalia-stuff :)

Hey all,

I've got a number of vehicle warning lights that i'm looking at selling that might be of interest to people wishing to recreate (or redesign) either the Ecto-1 or Ecto-1A.

I have a Whelen ‘Edge’ strobe lightbar, very similar (but slightly smaller length) than the one featured on the UPPER part of the Ecto-1A… I have a Whelen Dual Talon (I believe) as used on the windscreen of the Braxtanfilm Ectomobile for the new “ROTGB” film, plus a few other odds and ends here and there.

If anyone is interested, please let me know via PM or e-mail - obviously i'm afraid the larger lightbars would be UK shipping only.

Thanks!

Graeme

OK, here's some goodies for you

1) This is the Whelen Edge bar… in the pic it's upside down, because I removed the magnets and replaced them with brand new ones. The crappy old ones can be seen in the lower right of the pic:

You can download the video of it working here (right-click and ‘Save as’. It's 3.36mb in AVI format). Unfortunately my camera only records 15 frames per second, and the strobes are much faster (it has four corner strobes which do alternating quadrouple-flashes) and because the camera doesn't pick all of them up, they seem a bit random :-(:

2) This is the Whelen Dual Talon. On the Braxtanfilm official trailer for ROTGB (the .mov one) if you check out 00:49-00:51 (where Tim Johnson is getting his credits) you can see what appears to be this model of dash-light, in red/red. Don't hold me to that, but that's what it looks like. These are the brightest dash-lights available - thisis a clear/clear unit, however comes with green, yellow, blue and red filters, so you can swap and change as you wish:

And the video of this unit working can be found here - it's around 4.5mb in AVI format. It's ultra-blinding, and a well-quality piece of kit:

I also have some other units, including two more LED windscreen units and another strobe lightbar, but I haven't got readily available pics of them at the moment. I do a lot of buying and selling of emergency equipment stuff, and seeing the ROTGB trailer made me wonder if anyone else fancied ‘modding up’ their Ectomobiles!

Hope these work, if not, just give us a shout.

Cheers!

Some nice looking pieces there Graeme, I'm sure some of the members here can give them a good home.

What sorta price range you looking at as the sell price?

Hi, thanks for the comments Kingpin.

Whelen lightbars are notoriously expensive (particularly the strobe ones) as the prices can often run into the £500+ category. The Dual Talons retail new at over £150 also.

HOWEVER! Because i'm such a great guy, and you all love me (yadda yadda yadda )…

… All I want is £50 for the Whelen lightbar, and £50 for the Dual Talon. They're both fully working (and in the case of the Dual Talon, virtually brand new) and if anyone's interested, you know who to call… :p

I think the lightbar would be particularly suited to smaller vehicles, as it's not quite long enough to stretch across the roof of a Mondeo, however it will fit quite comfortably on something smaller, such as a Peugeot, Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Astra etc.

I'll try and get some pics of the other units up as soon as I can.

The Talon would be awesome just to mount at about eye level out the back window of a car…then, when some idiot's tailgating you at night, BAM! :-)
