I think I've been desensitized to game delays after putting up with Super Smash Bros.: Brawl's and really can't feel angry about them anymore, but here's my two cents…
A potential (or confirmed? …I'm really not sure, haha) delay isn't the worst thing in the world to me, but I'd like to see the game released as hastily as possible as soon as it's finished. I've been a loyal Ghostbusters fan all my life as well as an avid gamer, so this game is kind of the best thing ever for me.
I'm very grateful the game is even being made and if it NEEDS to be delayed, so be it. IF the few extra months will put an extra coat of shine on there, that's awesome (although unlikely like it was said given the amount of time already put into the game). …But they shouldn't push it back just to slap a “25th Anniversary” on it and let the finished product sit around and wait for that. The words “25th Anniversary” aren't going to help sell this game. What will sell it is already there: the original cast coming back together for a fantastic action/adventure video game that brings all the magic that made Ghostbusters so loved in the first place back to audiences everywhere.
Am I upset about the delay? Sure. I want this game as soon as possible. Do I think it's stupid? Of course, why in the world would they even consider missing a potential holiday season from a sales point of view? I mean, I guess we can take solace in knowing that it's not going to get canned. You know, based not only on the fact that they said it will be released, but c'mon… you don't get Bill Murray to record lines for a video game then… not release it.
So I dunno. I guess we'll just have to wait, but from what I've seen, the wait will be worth it. Yeah waiting sucks, but what is there to be done about it? It's not our decision to make, as much as I'm sure we all wish it was.
