After the first film where they destroy a “100ft marshamllow man” and gozer they seem to go out of business. I know that they get sued and that by why do people still not believe in them even after witnessing a marshmallow man walking through the streets. What bothers me is when the judge in the court on ghostbusters 2 basically mocks them and says he dont believe in ghosts even after everyone has seen stay puft????? surely they must all believe by now????? why would they get sued anyway shouldn't they be let off for saving the world from gozer and destroyin a 100ft marshmallow man???
there business is called a fraud constantly in GB2 even though stay puft is proof it is real.

Well, I think the reason that people still doubted them is that they thought that the GBs created Stay-Puft. Not in the sense that it was Gozer, but in the sense that they made it somewhere and let it loose (I'm sure that's probably what the legal opinion would have been). But the GBs came back and showed them all in GB2.

Remember that little smart-alic that talked about his dad saying they were full of crap? That might have been mainstream America's opinion as well.
