Guy Im sorry, but i really have to interrupt again here, I recently spoke to the runner of Imagen Con, and several other small conventions in Virginia. He explaind to me that even the small ones cost a few THOUSAND dollars to mantain and run. Thats only if you get a place to do it. Then there is worries about lodging, guests, security, vendors, events. I will start thinking about it if you have a few thousand dollers to just blow ona convention that wouldnt get many guests…

There are no spacific conventions that deal with just Ghostbusters, BUT in most cases all science fiction and gamming convention welcome anyone dressed as a ghostbuster with lots of attention no matter how good or bad the costume is. I recomend Dragon con, Origins, Gen Con, and i'll look into some others.

ok well since nobody wants to get info on covention centers I'd thought that i would start. There is a convention center that has over 100,000 square feet of carpeted floor for vendors. About 27,000 square feet for presentations and junk like that. And not to mension a pre-view room, so I thought about showing Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. This is in Pennsylvannia. Any interest please let me know, I'm dead serious about doing this. They are letting pro proppers sell things and fans dress up and show off. I would like to get some serious answers on if I should continue. If so you can expect a site to be up by October at the most w/ all info. The costs will come out of spectators and vendors for the spots.

You all have already shown a real problem and not even addressed it…Location. Im sorry but a ghostbusters convention should only be held one place, New York City. No place else. Another thing, guests, more ont he lines of the big time guests like Movie Actors and directors rarely show up, and even if they do, they are lousy at it. Vendors…200,000 somewhat square feet of Ghostbusters vendors? please people use your god giving minds here. Ghostbusters is great, but an event like this would have to be small and i mean SMALL at least when View Askew pulls off a convention they have 5 movies to show automaticly. We have two, oh and maybe RGB episodes. Okay costume contest, a big flipping no no for us ghostheads. We all know “ranking” gives us a problem, could you even fathom the problems if someone marks one propper better than the others? We all communicate with each other people, at normal cons winners will most likely never see the other contestants again, much less remember them. back to vendors, there is only so much Ghostbusters stuff to sell out there that people are really willing to sell at a good price. Prop vendor..okay…Kenner merchandise..okay, maybe Movie stuff, and then what? Really it comes down to money. I can tell you money will NOT be made on a convention like this. If i had the money id do a con like this without worries of it. But you will loose money on this, unless you make the entry fee too high, or vendors price too high. This would be a donnation thing. im all for a convention, i would gladly take an American west air line to the Con hall and set up shop. Id maybe even purchase a stand just for GBVA. To dot his right it would go like this:
Contact people of NON ghostbuster origin to get vendors there(VERY HARD)
get ghostheads to get off thier lazy ghostass and attend(ARE YOU A GOD?)
Get people that worked for GB anything to attend(You musta said “yes”…)
Advertisement(costly)
And there are other things im not naming, security, food, operations, and attractions.

Hey I'm with yea all the way. I just wanted to get people into the mood of looking at places to start. Maybe even think up of some things. Yes, New York, the place where Ghostbusters started that is where this needs to be. You know an idea that just came to me, is that we share it with another convention. Just a thought. Anyway thanks GBVA for the lay down, I just want to get people to get some spirit in them.
