I watched GB2 for the first time in a long time today. I'm glad to say it was way better than I remembered it being. Still, I can't help but think about the deleted scenes that were excised from the film. I still think that somewhere along the line I saw them or read about them somewhere.

I remember seeing (or reading as it were) about the Louis/Slimer confrontation and about Ray's reckless driving. It's probably from the GB novel, which I may have read as a kid. As you may know, some novels based on movies are sometimes actually written from earlier versions of the script… which sometimes have scenes that don't make it into the final movie, or different versions of scenes.

I read about Ray's possession somewhere, but I'm pretty sure someone said the Louis and Slimer scenes were in the theater version of the movie. If they were, why they were taken out for video release is beyond me. I was too little to remember wether or not it was featured in the theatrical version.

The driving scene, where Ray turns into a Vigo-induced, angry motorist, was in the script that went out to various license holders - which is why the scene appears in the book and the comic.

If you watch the bustin' montage in the middle of the movie (the bit with the music and lots of varied shots of the GBs at work - including the crystal store bust) you can see a shot of Peter, sitting in the back of the Ecto-1a, pulling a double take as he looks out the window of the speeding car. That's from the cut scene. You'll notice he's wearing the long, dark coat he was wearing during their visit to the museum. This is the scene just before Ray's driving freak out. Which explains the bit with Ray getting mesmerized by the painting.

I don't recall extra Louis versus Slimer in the theatrical release, but there was a scene with Louis and his cousin getting the guys out of the psych ward.

Yeah, I remember seeing that part in the montage. Thanks for reminding me… now I'm like 95% sure I saw both scenes in the theater, more than I was before.

I'm also sure I saw the scene where Hardemeyer gets his “just deserts”.

What I am sure about is that the Slimer fly-in was DEFINITELY in the theatrical release I saw.

Yes, the slimer fly-in was in the original release.. Slimer comes from behind the statue of liberty just as in the end of GB1.. I have no clue why that wasn't left in..

There is some other discussion that some copies of the movie that were shown in theaters had the deleted scenes in it by accident. You may have seen this..

I still remember the Slimer thing in GB2. I thought it was a nice nod to the first one. It still boggles the mind as to why they cut it out.
