To be honest, a little let down on news on the new GB game.
Agreed, it would've been nice if they'd been a bit more specific as to the extent of the preview.
Onto the photos:

As Matt said, the stand was pretty small and could've actuelly held more to promote the game (however this may have been the fault of the event organiser, the place wasn't really big enough for what was being billed as the biggest computer games expo in the UK, and it seemed space was at a premium).

However the real center of attention at the event of course, were the giant inflatable Stay Puft (Which some might remember it recently cameoed outside of a
GameStop in Texas) and the replica of Ecto-1.

They both easily made up for the disappointing stand given their awesomeness, and of course what was even better was the fact you could get your picture taken beside the car by one of the “GB The Game” staffers who were on hand. The polaroids were completely free and made for a great keepsake of the event:

I can easily see now why the Polaroid was such a well loved type of photograph.
The crew also had T-shirts and a really cool fleece bearing the game logo on the back and the Ghostbusters logo on the front left breast:

Unfortunately the knowledge about the game seemed lacking, I was unable to get a good idea of how much of the game had been completed, and the guy I talked too didn't report anything good about character customisation (he wasn't aware of being able to do it, but it may still have been a case where if they're hoping to implement that sort of option, they haven't put it in yet). However he did reveal that there was apparently a plan to have another preview of the game at the
MCM Event in London in May which I've been told (might) “be handing out collector's editions of the game”. I admit I find that both intriguing and a bit confusing as it seems a bit
too early for them to be handing out any sort of completed game with them still hoping to have the game release in Autumn, but I'll be planning to hit the event so I can see for myself.
Now, whilst on the subject of talking to the people there I'd like to give a big nod to one Milton Homan.

This is Milton Homan, he works in the movie industry getting cars for the big budget movies - you'll have seen his work, such as the 50s car Bond drives around in Cuba in
Die Another Day and his credits also include Kubrick's last film,
Eyes Wide Shut. You can see some of his other car projects at
his official site.
Well, the reason I'm telling you guys about him is he's the man responsible for the Ecto-1 replica that was in attendance at the event. I got talking to him and he revealed some interesting details about the car.
~Apparently they'd bought it from Europe and when they'd first got it, she wouldn't run. They'd hoped to have gotten an exact model as to the one used for the real Ecto-1, but weren't able to source one in time.
~The paint was completely overhauled as she'd started out completely red.
~The car was converted over the course of 4 months*
~The car, as Chuck mentioned appears to be a S&S, modified from being a hearse.
~The interior hasn't yet been modified, and he admitted that there were details on the roof that weren't accurate, but he gave me the impresison that more work was going to be undertaken on the car.
~Play.com Live! was the first time the car had been unveiled since it had been finished, and its set to go on a 6-8 month tour of the UK.

It also became apparent that Steve Jones of Channel 4's
T4 was a big fan, given he was getting into the car and having his picture taken with it. It's interesting seeing the levels that the promotion has gone to, to the point of seeking out a car and customising it.

There were some additional interesting tidbits to be heard from Mr. Homan over the inflatable Stay Puft. Apparently the company that created it is investigating how feasible it is to make a life size version. Mr. Homan elaborated that they'd been exploring the idea of putting it in Trafalgar Square for promotion of the game… of course, I have no idea if this'll come to fruition, but it'd be one hell of a marketing event if they managed to pull it off.
Overall the event was good, but it could've been better. The video game stand was disappointing, especially given the possibility of having some game previews to play even if they weren't finished versions… but the dissapointment was subdued thanks to the impressive promo pieces they'd had outside.
I'll conclude my report by posting the video I'd recorded of the preview… Unfortunately it didn't get the sound so I've recreated it through creative editing.
