I've seen this before, the best part:

Murray promises the wait for his next movie won't be nearly as long as the one for Scrooged. “It's not going to be called Ghostbusters II,” he reveals. "We'll burn in hell if we call it Ghostbusters II. I've suggested The Last of the Ghostbusters, to make sure there won't be anything like a Ghostbusters III. But the script is nowhere near ready, and we start shooting soon. Jeez, more pressure. We'll figure it out…or we won't.

He was right though.

I want a GB3 as much as everyone else, but it doesn't look like it's happening.

And for the rest of everyone's careers those actors are going to be asked “When the next GB Movie”

If they had gone with Murray's title then they wouldn't be hounded.

I still say it's obvious he enjoyed working on both films and he's looking out for his best interest. And you can't fault him for that.

Why should such an old interview settle things? Everytone knew Murray's feelings on this matter, so none of it should come as a shock to anybody. In actual fact that interview gives me more hope. If he had that much fun whilst shooting it then there is a chance he may do it again for that purpose.
