Its just arrived the door to the mail man shut just 10 minutes ago as i took possession of a gleaming new mint in box ecto1 (Yeah the huge die cast one with the slimer :-)) woo hoo i cant believe i tracked one down!!! Yeah its the joyride one, dont ask me why i didnt get it when i came out i'm a walther Pecker head i know. As for the figures they dont actually fit in the car (i dont think) but they do stand around it and look very very sweet, They are expensive though at about £27 a set.

It's pretty rare now. Apparently, ERTL stopped doing their Joyride line so the Ecto 1 is no longer in production.

That's why you better buy merchandise when it comes out. If you wait too long, prices might shoot up pretty quickly.

Last week though, a Belgian retailer offered the Joyride Ecto 1 for pre-order on his website. According to him, the car will be re-released at its original price in the summer of this year.
I wonder if all this is true though…

OMG… lol… well the body of the car is Dead on accurate, but the roof rack isnt exactly correct in scaling. ive been goofing around with my 1/18th scale Ecto (same as yours) and honestly, if you set the ECTO-1 Model kit roof rack on it, alot of It would look Alot more accurate!
(ie: radar beacon, Scopes, Lightbars, height in general)
BUT…
its still quite the decent roof rack, but buy an Extra Ecto-1 model kit, take a few parts from the roof rack and mount them accordingly (ya, buy the right paint too lol) on the larger scale Ecto… You'll see what I (or We) mean.

PS. But lets Not bitch about Some of the Extreme detail Joyride did on their die-cast ecto eh? gotta dig the rear whip antenna, siren, red light, cowl lights, front grill, strobes, AC unit & a few more odds & ends that makes the car a great Ecto-1.
