Rented Terminator: Salvation. Got to say it was better than I was expecting it to be and better than the 3rd movie (but that's not saying a lot really).

Avatar: Great Movie, Iwasn't that impressed with the “era defining” visuals the movie was claiming to have. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of the movie and I loved the story…just was not blown away or find anything in the movie that was that impressive from a visual standpoint in either the 3-D or 2-D (saw both) versions of the movie.

Two films in the past week:

Sherlock Holmes
Very enjoying and entertaining, Robert Downey Jr provides a new and interesting take on Holmes, Downey Jr and Jude Law cultivated a very entertaining and strong rapport during the length of the film, and Rachel McAdams helped to prove a good foil in Irene Addler who played a nice mix of antagonist and protagonist.

Thoroughly enjoyable, and worth seeing.

Avatar
James Cameron's first major project since Titanic. A fantastic film, visually breathtaking, a strong emotional story, a richly fleshed-out world and some awesome battle sequences.

One I'll be buying on DVD.

I watched The Taking Of Pelham 123 - the remake with Denzel Washington. I gotta say - I really enjoyed it.

Over the weekend I watched “Trick R Treat”, the 2009 one and then “Trick Or Treat”, the 1986 one. Both were pretty damn good in my opinion.

“Daybreakers”. It was actually good. Despite the futuristic setting, it included many of the old vampire mythos. No sparkling vampires in this one. A definite for fans of the genre.

“High Tension”- I had the ending spoiled by request after a friend saw it when it came out.

From what he told me, it was dumb, but I picked it up anyways.

Honestly, not too bad. It kept me entertained and sucked into watching it all the way through.

Perfect? Hardly. You could drive a John Deer through the plotholes, but it was entertaining to say the very least.

Also, the “Phantasm” UK boxset came to my second job, so I picked that up. As expected, my DVD player didn't read it, but it played fine in my computer. PLUS with my new TV, I can just get some wires and hook my computer up to it for maximum awesomeness.

I watched two movies this weekend when we had a long ride home. Big Daddy and Shark Boy and Lava Girl. It was supposed to be in 3D but it was not. Then again so was the Simpsons 20th anniversary special. That to was not in 3D

Daybreakers

A pretty good vampire film, some unexpected twists, good development and a lot of unexpected gore. Definitely enjoyable, and a trio of excellent actors comprising the major cast members.

It was also nice seeing some of the classic aspects of vampire cinema lore back, like Jeff mentioned in his review.

It's also great to have decent vampires on the silver screen again, after those two huge bits of tween garbage that were released recently.

No sparkly vampires here!
