Dude this is freaking awsome !!!!…I really love the Proton pack the first version. The second version kinda has to much stuff placed on the proton gun. I really love the proton beam, it looks very good and very cool.

No, I think that that was a “flubb” in the design. I'm thinking that when the devs had access to the original proton pack props/plans, from the Sony archives, the barrel of the nuetrona wand was extended, and that the it's measurements (length) were based off of that, and in turn, drawn/rendered that way.
