Lionheart
I absolutely love how the Proton Pack cools down or overheats or whatever that is it's doing. You can see it in the first and third videos. It's really neat.

I showed these tech demos to a buddy of mine who really isn't into GB, but is a gamer and he said the videos made him really want the game. I thought that was pretty cool that the tech demos have that appeal. I just hope that the 360 version is able to run everything as well as the PS3 is apparently running it here. I imagine it will.

I think it's venting, I remember reading that you have to vent it every so often to keep it from overheating. The attention to detail on the proton pack is ridiculous! The way the cyclotron lights change from red for the standard positron collidor, to green for the slime tether, to yellor for the meson collider. Also, there's a little slime thing that pops up in the back with the slime tether function, and antennas that pop up for the meson collider.

This game looks really good, from a gaming standpoint. This looks everybit as good as GTA IV which is critically praised with an average review of like 98% or something. The engine is really impressive too, all those objects and people on screen without lag, and the fact that when you walk into the building everything is already generated and lit. Like you said, even if I had never seen Ghostbusters, I would still be anxious for this from a gamer point of view.

Yes, it's venting - It's a nice way to deal with “reloading” on a piece of equipment that doesn't really need reloading (or at least, not more than every couple of years :p ) There have been a number of games with equipment that “overheat” or require some sort of rest before use. And I'll bet they'll use the similar mechanism of the player resting to “heal”, instead of first aid.

Also if they are boasting about the physics engine then would not the ceiling fall in on the tech demo if three cars are susspended from it…?

You know what I'd be more worried about? The fact that the first time you shoot the slime part of it is connected to an object like a car, while the other part is still connected to the front of the gun, especially since it pulls them together tightly regardless of how far or close the objects are to each other.

Let's face it though, when you're dealing with the dead, a 100 foot marshmallow man and even scarier things you seldom stop to worry about anything else.

hmmmm… I just had a thought of the Slime Tether and Mr. Stay Puft. It'd be cool if you used the ST to practically stick him to buildings and then while he struggles to get loose, you well… roast him. lol.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of requirements the pc version will have.

I noticed in the new video; when switching the “Triggers” from Proton Beam to Slime Tether; the Cyclotron lights change from Red to Green. Which will explain the Green lights in those newer screenshots.

Can't wait to see what in store for E3 today. Especially since, as has been mentioned (many times I believe too), Microsoft usually releases downloadable demos and videos from E3. I don't expect a demo (and I don't know if I want one either, I don't think I could resist it - thus the problem, I'm going to the Penny Arcade Expo and that will have the demo - thus a case against any demo from E3 anyway), but I wouldn't mind having a downloadable hi-res video over Live.

All in all, it's just exciting to get more coverage of the game. Of course I haven't even gone to sleep yet (I don't get to sleep at a certain time, then I'm screwed for another few hours, which is why I haven't yet), so I guess this is the last thing to be thinking about.
