I've been waiting for some facts before I donate my two cents, but it appears the facts are going to be slow coming, if they come at all.

As a gamer and a Ghostbusters fan I was outraged when I heard this. It didn't make any sense and still doesn't make any sense. Activision was either too arrogant or too stupid, or perhaps both (god theres nothing better than a cocky idiot) to realize what a great IP they could have had. They decided that would rather have Spyro. Fucking Spyro. A goddamn purple dragon that had one good game ten years ago.

I would love it to be released on time in October, and to be frank, it seems incredibly ridiculous for a game that is like 97% complete and has received nothing but praise to be pushed back a whole year. But whatever, thats their choice. We have to live with it.

Anyway, on the positive side of things, if this game does indeed end up getting pushed back to 2009 Terminal Reality might use this time to put in additional features and flesh out some old ones further. For example, I've always felt that the multiplayer/co-op mode seems very tacked on. If thats the case then it might give them a chance to give it a nice overhall. Hell, throw in a detailed character creation thing for single and/or multiplayer.

Hopefully we'll get some official details next week.

I've got a conspiracy theory regarding the GB SDCC panel cancelation. We were told it was cancelled because of a schedule conflict.

I find it hard to believe that Aykroyd would have scheduled anything on top of his chance to talk GB with the fans.

My theory is that the “schedule conflict” might have been that Aykroyd found out that the game was going to be pushed way back, and he wasn't happy about it. Thus they had a conflict about the game's schedule/release date.

Just a thought.

I think its pretty clear to everyone that that's why the panel was canceled.

Whilst possible, for me it's not to surprising for a celebrity to have tp pull out last minute, even if it's something they really want to attend and meet people at… par example, at Adventurecon back in June, Ernie was slated to appear at an arranged event that would've also had the Universal Studios Ecto-1 replica, but he had to pull out of one of the days because of scheduling conflicts that arose close to the event.

Dan and Ernie probably love Ghostbusters and the fans for what they've been given, but their best intentions can still be knocked off course by the multiple other things they're also involved with in their daily lives.

Big news there! So if a playable demo code is out (would be f'ing cool to be leaked as an iso on the net!) then I think we have a situation in where the GB game is coming out and we need to not worry, but Activision's crap is still crap. I hope this game comes out and more importantly comes this year. Being worked on for over 2 years, no need to stretch it out when they get a a publisher.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Coming in '09
That's when Variety says it is at least…

US, August 4, 2008 - Last week, the perfect world here at IGN was shattered when Activision announced that it would not be publishing Ghostbusters: The Video Game, a title from Terminal Reality (PS3/360/PC) and Red Fly (PS2/Wii/DS) that was under the Sierra umbrella. However, a ray of hope has come through today in the form of a Variety blog called The Cut Scene.

There, Variety videogames reporter and reviews editor Ben Fritz reports that he's touched base with Sony Pictures – lord and master of the Ghostbusters franchise – and a rep there confirmed that the studio is working with Activision Blizzard “to evaluate various options surrounding the release of the ‘Ghostbusters’ video game.” The post goes on to say that Sony's taking time to “reevaluate” the marketing of the game to “potentially coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film in ‘09.”
So there you have it: a nameless rep says something might “potentially” happen. We’re checking into this one ourselves and will get back to you when we hear something.

None of that has been confirmed yet! All we want is a straight answer from them. Yes or no. If yes, then we better get a god damn demo. (o_O)

I dunno if this is the old issue that everyone has been talking about or the new one, but I picked up an issue of Nintendo Power with Sonic on the Cover…had a single screenshot of the DS game as well as a really kick ass concept of Walter Peck from the Wii version

“It's True, this man has no Wii”

Still in the process of reading it.

Not being subscribed to Nintendo Power and being completely unable to find this issue, is there any chance someone could scan the DS screenshot? I REALLY wanna know what that game looks like. It's driving me nuts.
