Kikizo: Was there a bidding war?
Douglas: I don't know the specifics, but my understanding is yeah, there was some competition for it.
Oh yeah, it was dropped because no one wanted to publish it. /sarcasm

That was never the issue. Activision was the publisher. They didn't drop it because “no one wanted to publish it”. They dropped it because they didn't want to publish it. They never said no one wanted to. They said they didn't think it was a long-term franchise for them.

I'm just sick of seeing people on other sites saying that it was dropped because it wasn't good or not wanted.

And that's your right, but please keep it to yourself Jonathan.
Anyway, be wary about the way they brought up montages, whilst it could be meant to be taken literally, and that we will see busts inspired by the ones from the first and second film montages, but equally, they may have meant to reference those just as an example, and we won't actually be busting any ghosts from the film montages.

Sorry, had to correct Venkman, not going to make a post without correcting him, and I noticed that they spelt Ramis as Raymis, so yeah, I'd keep an eye on that.

Ah, I get what you originally meant now. I thought you were implying the reason Activision dropped it was because “no one wanted to publish it.” (which would seem odd, since they are the publisher), but you meant that random people were stupidly saying “Activision dropped it because no one wanted to publish it.”

Exactly, no, I know the reason Activision dropped it, its not “maor Guitar Hero” and like Doe_Ray_Egon said, because a movie's not coming out, which in my view is a good thing since the two developers won't have to rush the games to get it out in time.
Oh well, those fools don't know what they lost, their loss is Atari's gain, and ours once the games do actually come out.

Ironic since I noticed this at Kotaku. Well, you've got my support Phil, as well as the rest of the posters here.
