There's a difference between saying “that's not how it's going to be” and thinking “it's a safe conclusion.” One statement insinuates that it's a fact, the other is making an assumption.

I know, but I think that there's enough to support that the cinematics seen in the GCHD stuff is the way the cinematics in the game will go.

Amongst other things it seems to me (although I hand on heart admit I have little experience with game design, but I do have close to six years experience of 3D work) that it's too late in the game for them to be doing something as substantial as changing the model renderer for the cinematics. My own conclusion, plus the way Skanker has been talking about the renderer in regards to the character models says to me that that will be the style they'll go with for the final game… those three rendered scenes look like a next gen game as one other person mentioned, wheras the older renders look only a little better then the cutscenes from Resident Evil 2.

Plus, the video with Alyssa Milano, which is the newest “official” video, still uses the older style.

There isn't anything I can really add that Whisk and ShadowSt haven't already said about the Alyssa Milano video.

Good point.

I'm hoping that the newer styling is tweaked even more so that Stantz looks right though.

It's pretty simple actually.

just ask yourself which video footage you saw first, then which ones have been popping up recently.

It's not that simple I'm afraid.

I saw Rule 1 and the Atari Live trailer first. The last one I've seen is the Rule 3 trailer. Both are the same “style”

And yet there's this more dynamically lit footage that I've seen in between the two.

Seriously? You're arguing with someone who works on the game?

perhaps I should rephrase myself:

Which videos are dated before others and what footage do the first ones feature?

Now, which footage is starting to be featured as we get closer to release?

I think it was already said here, and if not in this very topic then in another on this forum, but there's a good chance the Rule 3 trailer was compiled as part of Activision/Sierra's campaign for the game. If that were the case then that would account for the discontinuity.

So is that a confirmation that the Rule 3 trailer was in fact created for the initial October ‘08 release?

I’m not trying to argue with you - you obviously are in a better position to know. What I am arguing to others is that we're all making assumptions about things, but due to the merger, any footage we see could be older than it seems. Further, any “newer” looking footage could simply be experimental.

i think that all the rule trailers and the one with alissa milano was for the october release, and yes its simple just look these pics its obvious wich ones are new

they look very good, the bad thing to me its that we can see more things in the old cinematics, the new ones are like zoomed in ore something

I'm not officially confirming anything as we didn't have anything to do with those trailers. Those were compiled by the publisher. Whether that was Atari or Activision is beyond me.

Though, given the footage in those, I can only be led to guess as to who did them.

Though, trust me on this. Pre rendered cinemats are expensive and time intensive. Most companies will not experiment with them to that level of finality.

Experimentation with those kind of cinemats usually comes in form of single frames.
