Hi all. Just wondering, does any body know of a way to play the NTSC Wii version on a pal Wii that doesn't involve buying an NTSC console or “chipping” etc.

No, unfortunatly the only “Region Free” version is the Xbox version

The only patch I know of, was the one released on the second day the game was out ( The first day X Box live was back up ). This one I believe fixed some problems with cutscenes and the actual game running slow in some areas. Basically last minute tweaking that made it into the PS3 game before launch, but wasn't able to make it into the 360 game.

Also… stay away from CD detection bypasses. Many people complaining about the crawlers are typically using bootleg or cracked versions of the game which apparently drastically messed up the game's files resulting in near invulnerable enemies and faulty equipment.
