A couple more ‘exclusives’ for us Anglophiles, the UK magazines PC Zone and PlayStation 2 Official Magazine for January 2008 and Christmas 2007 respectively have big articles on the versions of the game for their respective consoles.

I can confirm that the PlayStation 2 version of the game will feature the same graphics as the Wii.

I bought both of these magazines within the last half hour but I won't be able to post scans until I get home this evening.

Sorry for being a tease.

I still really hope they fix the blue electron flow on the beam. Should be wrapped around the orange.

bolts of lightning are a pretty hard thing to do, especially if they are going to be following the steams that going in random waves like they were in the movies.

right now i think it would be a minor issue, they are probably trying to fix all the bigger kinks in the game until they get to small graphical things like that

but i have faith

Actually, i was watching GB2 last night and the blue electric arcs aren't really wrapped around the orange per say.

*As do I - I wouldn't post my “asthetic” gripes about the game unless I thought they actually gave a crap about how it looks, and according to the member of the “Dev Team” that once posted on here -They do…And I remember him saying something to that effect about the beams, and how they'd work on their look…

*So to mirror CTS - “I have faith too” :p (*peter) …

*That's beacuse it was ILM, not BOSS Films that were doing the effects…Yes Richard, Joe, and a host of others from the “effects” side of things from the first movie were present, but stylistically it was ILM pulling the strings, and not so much the collective “FX” team of the first…

*The beams in “Part II” didn't have the girth , nor the presence of the ones seen in GB1, and were “weaker” looking in comparison…I remember hearing somewhere , that they wnated a more “comedic” effect on the beams…

*Having said that, I DO like the way they became more “lasso” like compared to the first movie's more stringent ones…

*But getting back to the issue at hand - The blue “electron beams” being awry in Part II wasn't so much an issue, as it wasn't but so bad…THESE seen in the preliminary shots and video of the game itself are HORRIBLE, no offense…

*I realize that rendering such a thing in a game can be difficult, as the beams are not “hand drawn” as they were in the movies…But given the technology their working with and constantly improving day-by-day, there can at least be a compromise down the line IMHO…

*Cheers.

Guess I'm looking out for PSW as well… didn't see it at W.H.Smith when I was there… I definately wouldn't have missed something with the logo on it.

It looks so great seeing all of those logo covers in one place.

Yep they were all calling out to me, I will see if I can find my scanner (put it away as I never use it ) and put some scans up later.

*** EDIT ***

Sorry looks like a no show, my Visioneer 4400 USB scanner will not work with Vista 64, judging from the web no Visioneer scanner works under Vista.

How come us in the states only get the GI magazine, we feel left out that everyone else everywhere gets like, 1000 different magazines with the logo and I'm sure better articles in it.

I think all of us GB fans in the states should sue and see about getting all those magazines imported here…at a fair price since importing is damned expensive.

It sure makes a change that we get a good deal here in the UK, lol.

There was just a little bit extra info in the 8 page article in the PS3 magazine.

They did mention that there is a level in the game when Ecto-1 has to get to Times Square while you control a giant trap on the back of the car.

The Proton Pack will be upgradable, with such things as a freeze beam for ghosts that are not fond of water.

I did spot that although the article is written in a way to give the impression that they know there Ghostbusters stuff they did make a big mistake. They kept refering to the Library Ghost as a man…! lol.

Quote:-

“In a scene reminiscent of the first movie you'll see a book-keeping ghost minding his business and getting on with cataloguing his collection.”

“Get too close mind, and he'll go nuts. He likes his books and no-one else can get near. It's a shocking moment as the mild-mannered ghost turned evil.”

“Fire up the proton pack and let rip with the streams. Control the ghost in the stream as you prepare the trap, and rodeo the sucker in place.”

Seeing how there are loads of pictures in the article of the library ghost how can they make such a balls up…? :-)
