Start with the motherboard. Cut it correctly, and add to that.

um……..no. never start with the mother board….. ALways start with the boxes. Do the mother board last. If you do it first, and then the boxes, things might not line up properly.

Listen stembob, if you had any idea the stuff i have done, you would feel very stupid for your last comment. You do start with the mother board. And you go around that. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get all the boxes finished, and then make a board around them?!?!?! Think about it. Now if thats the wrong way to do it, why does my dallas planet hollywood pack look so good? And why are you correcting someone when you have no props at all?

listen slider, you've done a bunch of props…………….good for you, your experienced. But this kid obviously isn't. And this same exact thread has been started like 20 times. And every time it's started, about 50 people say that you start with the boxes. It's alot easier. And yes, you can make the mother board around the boxes. You cut the board to the general dimentions, situate the boxes, and then trace the outline of the boxes. So great, good for you, you know exactly what to do, but your the only one who starts on the mother board.

Unfortuantly,
I have to agree with Stembob. It is much easier for an unexpirenced (even expirenced ones too!) prop builder to do the motherboard last. Usually things won't line up if it isn't done last. I know, because I've had to build so many mother boards. Now I do them last.

Well I understand about the “unexperienced” part, but I am not the only person to make the mother boards first. He asked what part you start on , I told him what I start on . Next time you decide to contradict
someone, make sure you know what your talking about. Technically I am right. He never said anything about not being experienced. Back to me being the only one to start with the boxes…. You wanna do them right???? You do the board first. Thats how the GB packs for the films where made. Maybe one day I will explain all this stuff to you, on why I know so much.

Actually,
I believe they made the Motherboards last in Ghostbusters. They would have had to have some idea of what shapes to make it. Plus it was made of metal originally, and they wouldn't have wanted to screw up.

Start with the EDA, then the Gun block, and bridge, then the power cell, and EDA nose.. the Gear Box and Ion Arm can be confusing, so do it last.. then the Spacer and Cyclo.. you may want to buy those..

Do them how you like.

Ecto you are wrong about the boards being metal. I have reference shots from the production crew of all the packs. As well as the original blueprints. I was given copies of these when I was doing my PH packs. If you would like to see them, tell me.
