Proton charging reports NEW PUBLISHER FOUND!!

To be completely honest I don't think they going to delay it until June. My reasoning is that Sony originally planned on having it release in October the only reason that that changed was because Activision dropped the game. Now Sony needs to get a new publisher (which it looks like they have found one) and that will cause a delay but they will still try to get it out in March/April. I think we all know that January/Febraury would be bad timing because it is just after the holidays but remember when someone hears “Ghostbusters 25th anniversary” (other than us) they think of 2009 NOT JUNE 8, 2009. Most people don't know that that is the exact date they just know that 2009 will be 25 years. So if they want to market it to the general public it really wouldn't make a difference if it was released in March or June because, to the general public, both would be “25th anniversary.” So I believe a delay will only be until March or April to give the publisher enough time but to get it out as soon as possible.

as i said in my thread before the new boards went up, before it was pulled GAMESTOP released to me that the pre-order was going to be a comic but now the delay is probably gonna change it.

I hope you're right. Since my birthday is in April, an April release would be a nice birthday present.

I'd say the earliest it could ever come out, and I am pushing it as even remotely possible, is Late February to March. The latest will be June, so a good time would be around April. As I said I am just pushing it, but that is what I believe. If someone tries to insult me, just in case, don't. This is just a personal opinion.

I dont think i can wait till next june. Ive wated long enough. March, is my final limit! thats it. If i dont have the game in my hands by April 2th, then, i dont want it. Its too much to ask of me, a hardcore, loyal fan, to wait almost another year, for a finished product for no reason what so ever then a lame marketing campain.

I know, im taking it personaly, and i shouldent, but, honestly, its a slap in the face, to tell me to expect this, then hold it back from me for no real reason!

Everyone that has been anticipating this game as feverishly as we have feels slapped in the face. One month to wait turning into nine months over the course of a single night was like getting kicked in the balls.

-BUT-

Try to relax a little bit. You will buy it whenever it comes out. WE ALL WILL. And if the time we have to wait is spent polishing the game or adding features, then it will be worth it. Fact of the matter is that threatening to not buy the game if it doesn't come out by a certain date really only screws you over. The game is going to be a monster when it comes out. People are gonna snatch it up. You don't want to be left out just because the game was fashionable late do you? (Ok, maybe not fashionably late)

Even though the games already as polished as its going to get, and I doubt that they're going to add anything in. The games pretty much complete, and yet, they're sitting on it for 9 months, that to me is a bunch of bull.

The true question we all have to ask ourselves is “Would you rather have the game in 6-9 months or not have the game at all?”

The delay was inevitable, but at least we can all take heart in the fact that it will come.

The delay was only inevitable as soon as craptivision got involved.

Now i can't see any reason why this whole incident has arrisen, but it has. There really was no reason to delay the game (as far as i can tell), but it has.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not “ok” with it.

But before everyone starts with “at least we're getting it” should we not be wary as to why we're not getting it on time (i know its not being published by activision etc.)

I know some will say all sorts about me saying what i'm about to say, but………

Why say at least we're getting it? (makes it seem easier i suppose) even though folks'll say better than being delayed! N yeah, it is. But it should'nt be happening at all. N i really can't understand anything of what is cracking off. Now i'm not saying Sony/Activision or whoever, should get it sorted (though it would be nice) but i really would feel a WHOLE lot better with an official release date (for a 2nd time lol) and a demo THIS year to see us through. I know, i know, we ain't likely to get a demo n e time soon n a lot of people say it'd be like false advertising cuz it might change from now till then etc. But demos (usually) come with some kind of warning as to “preview level seen in this demo may not represent final product.

Something else that gets on my goat (n no duobt LOADS of people will disagree with me) is when people say ”at leats it wont have to go head to head with gears 2 etc". Now don't get me wrong, gears 2 is my most anticapated, next to gbtvg, but i still have MUCH faith in the ghostbusters game to sell VERY well. Infact i'd love it to go head to head with gears 2 and any other competition. Especially little big planet. I personally think gbtvg would do brilliantly next to all these top titles. Now i ain't sayin it'd out sell EVERYTHING though i'm sure it'd give EVERYTHING a run for its money ( n still do excellntley).

Now……..let the hateing begin

Reality is is that this game is not going to come out this year.

I am sorry if you don;t like it and that some of us are trying to be passive about it, but if you think about it, sitting here whining makes no sense at all. It is NOT going to make the game come out any quicker and while yes we are all angry about the fact of all that you said, no amount of whining will change anything.

I am sorry, but you can either accept the fact or sit here and whine until the game comes out. Your choice, but I am going to be passive about it. I am going to accept it and play another game until this one comes out. The sooner I do this, the easier it will be and the less stressful I will get.

Hey, i completely agree m8. Don't get me wrong i'm not whinning, as such lol, but my point was people saying (i cant remember where i read it) they're actually “happy” or “glad” it's been delayed so's it'll get more work done on it. Fair enough. IF it does. Though i bet deep down they're in bits lol. But i'll bet that when the final product ships there will be very little noticable, if any, changes. That ain't a bad thig as it seems a pure work of art to me. Now i'm all for the “passive” n “positive” approach. I really am. I'm the same as u, in that i'm tryin to focus on other stuff.
I mean i got a list as long as my arm with things comin before x-mas. There ur go, there's a positive, save money lol.
