RGB Toys around the world

I've been looking for RGB toys (mostly 1st serie) to buy on ebay, but noticed that there was many boxes and cards variations…

Is a mint-in-box FireStation more valuable if it's in the original US package ?

What's the main difference between the shapes of the action figure bubble on the cards (some bubbles shape the action figure, some don't).

Is there a website that talks about all the different versions of the toys ?

Thanks everyone

Anything is worth more in it's original packaging.

Yeah, I kinda figured that… Let me illustrate with an example :

You have 2 Stay Pufts… One has a French/English card (probably from Canada) and is perfectly mint and unopened.

The other is on an US card (English only). It's unopened but the card has some shelf wear on the corners.

Which one is worth more ? The perfectly mint one (on a non-US package) or the slightly damaged one (on an original US package).

Instead of doing another post, I'll keep this one alive. So while waiting for an answer, here's another question :

In the Real Ghostbusters first series of toys (original action figures), the nutrona wand was connected to the base of the proton pack. When did the ones with the wand connected to the middle of the cyclotron appear ?

Was it something like a year after the initial release ?

Maybe this is totally irrelevant for some collectors, but somehow, I'd like to know how I can differentiate the re-releases of those toys. Were the packages any different ?

Alright… So nobody seems to know.

BUT I've been doing some research, and looked at many auctions, pictures and researched many sites and I'm starting to have a lot of lore concerning the different releases of RGB toys.

I'm willing to share the information I gathered on this forum, but I want to know if anyone's interested first.

Keep in mind that I'm offering OBSERVATIONS, not facts.

I'd say the mint one might be worth more… but I'm not an expert.

Are you asking about worth because you're considering selling them?

I'm not really considering selling, since I only recently started to buy them. I was just curious as how many versions of these toys existed and which are the most valuable.

I'm only guessing that Kenner toys releases are more valuable than Josca's.

I don't know why, but all those different cards and boxes fascinate me

What I'd like to do is a list of all the different models I encounter and list the differences between them.

I've delt with these toys before and own a lot myslef….from my collecting expierences I've found that Kenner are worth more to not only dealers but collectors.

Remember, if your looking into buying series 1 toys, the cardbacks have two variations as well. One only shows the four GB's on the back while the other shows a few ghosts, and other items as well as the original 4. The one with the 4 only back also are the ones where the string for the proton packs come through the bottom of the pack instead of the back, these are the first line of the toys and are considered to be a lot more rare.

also, i sent you an email

All I know is the hose-right-through-the-bolt version (in a kinda nasty purple color, I recall) came with the “Slimed Heroes” (the zillionth repaint of the original “guys” figs, plus Louis from the Power Pack line–but no Janine???WTF?). If they appeared earlier than that, I didn't notice ‘cuz I already had the 1st series and didn’t care about variants.
