Okay! I'm sorry, I just understood. You dont know what proof cards are, dont you? Just click on the link I provided above. It explains very well what proof cards are. I'm going to resume it anyway. “…A proof card (or proof) is an early printing of an action figure cardback…” Therefore a packaging Prototype.

How do you know if it's early? I could buy ANY FIGURE MINT ON CARD and it will have the card on the back.

You are right, proof cards often looks exactly like a regular card. Except for the texture. Proof card are usually thinner and the back isnt glossy like a production package. Also, there wont be any glue residue, because no bubble was attached to it. And the hanger hole is most of the time “irregular”, subject to change after the “tests” are over. Proof cards were used by the designer to have an idea of the final product. You can often see hand writtings and modifications on those proof cards. I dont know exactly how many proof cards they were making at Kenner. But it's not a lot.
You are also right to be suspicious about those, some people might try to rip collectors off by selling them fake proof cards. The ones I am selling are coming from a former Kenner employee. I also got a original Slimer art packaging (hand painted) from that same employee. It's a bit too large for my scanner but I could always give it a try if you'd like to see it.
