One joke I catched very late, was at the elevator scene, when Ray asks Egon to “switch him on”, I didn´t understand the faces of Peter and Egon and his pushing back… then I got it, they´re afraid of the noise of the proton pack, afraid of any explosion or something like that.

One think I love after that scene, is when Ray gets out of the elevator with the proton gun in hand, very carefully, then Egon follows him the same way… and at the end, Peter cames out very chilled out, like he was getting out a candy store, as nobody was happening at the time.

Hilarious!

Yeah I remember as a kid not fully understanding the whole Keymaster/Gatekeeper thing.

It's from a joke that never got filmed, in a deleted scene from the script Egon explained prior to a early Proton Pack test that it could cause sterility.

I made a similiar thread quite awhile back like this.

I was at a friend's house for New Year's Eve and GB was on Comedy Central. One of my friends and I were watching the scene where they're at the hotel and they get on elevator. As soon as Egon switches Ray on, Egon moves to the corner of the elevator. Now I always thought Egon did that because he didn't like the sudden stop elevators make. My friend says, “I thought it was because he didn't want Ray's pack exploding”. He was totally right. All these years, I got it wrong, while my friend, most likely only saw the movie a few times got it right.

You know I always seems to find myself saying to the screen during the scene. “What are you going to do Egon? You're in an elevator. I don't think 2 inches is going to make a difference.”

I think it´s cause we have watched this movie since we were kids… and some jokes are there but we never understood those. That elevator joke was explained by a friend too.

Wow, can't believe I never noticed this one before…

Watched Ghostbusters with the girlfriend this weekend, and I honestly never noticed the explosion of marshmallow off the side of the building in the wide shot when the top of 55 Central Park West is exploding.

I guess my eye has just always been drawn to the explosion, but for some reason I looked off to the left this time and saw the explosion of marshmallow. So freakin cool!

I don't think he says “and so do we”… the line has always seemed “they go up” and then when they start walking towards he says “go ahead, alright, go, go ahead”.
