SW: AOTC

With 30 days left until its release I figure that I better open up a new thread for Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (I refuse to put the Episode II in there, sorry).

What are your thoughts? Are you anticipating it? Eager to see if it's better/worse than Phantom Menace? What do you think about the guys in line here in Hollywood despite the fact that it's still uncertain that the Chinese theater will even show the flick?

Personally, the Netmeister's looking forward to AOTC. I wasn't a huge fan of TPM but enjoyed it just the same for all of its strong points. But I'm sure that this new flick is going to blow it out of the water. For some reason, it just feels more like Star Wars.

Not to mention the fact that the future wife is in it and looking beautiful as ever. (grin)

So, Ghostheads, let's hear your thoughts- I know there's a lot of you out there in the community (Ecto-Jedi, I expect you should be posting in t-minus two seconds here)!

If it only had Ewoks, it would be the best movie ever…except for some certain movies about some Paranormal investigators….wink

I can't wait! I did enjoy TPM but I know what you're feeling Net, this DOES feel more like Star Wars. I keep seeing more pictures and articles (and trailers, of course) and it looks awesome…even cast members are praising it when they didn't praise TPM…I can't wait, it's gonna be awesome.

I'm not going to miss what could be the social event of the season…

Even if there are Ewoks.

I know what you mean Net. I liked TPM, but the Jake Lloyd thing bothered the heck out of me (Lucas really screwed up there). Anyhow if AOTC comes near me I'm gonna get some tickets.

Not to leave my fan(s) waiting… here I go.

I am very impressed with the way they handled it this time around. Very little public hype. The day it releases, it'll knock the socks off everyone.

This week's EW mag has some GREAT photos, and I must stress how happy and relieved I am that they are using orginal sets from A New Hope.
Bringing back the grittyness of the old Star Wars will be tricky, becuase the transition will be from Episode 3 (Highest digital effects) to Episode 4 (lowest digital effects), and I think Lucas has started this de-greating effect that will lose all the flashy, shiny things from Episode 1 and starts incorperating the boxy, dull, things that make Star Wars what it is!

My only REAL gripe is the Fett (Boba) got his history from the books, and Lucas is changing it, but I think I can handle it, though I fell in love with the Fett from the books. Jaster Merrel (spelling is off) may be gone, but at least we see Fett's bad-ass pop!

I thought I'd share this intersiting snipplet from a book called Tales of the Bounty Hunters. It has short stories of all the main ones, anyways, The story about fett, has this flashback where Han Solo first sees the Fett about 20 years ago and Fett was wearing “Gray armor from that of the old Mandlorians.” GraY! Jango wears Gray, this was a very good find for me. So maybe Fett will wear his father's armor before donning his green. Thought I'd sahre that, sorta pretains to AotC.

Sorry, you guys got me going…

Hehe, well Ecto-Jedi- considering that I knew you'd be replying to it I'm glad that you got all worked up.

Are you talking about the EW with Natalie Portman-Benjamin on the cover? I have yet to receive it, stupid slow campus mail. Such is life.

I agree that the transition will be quite difficult, but from the trailer things are starting to look grittier and dirtier. Even the new Jedi Starfighter toy has some wear and tear that the N-1 didn't have. Which brings me to my next question? How many of you are headed to midnight madness on the 23rd?

The Netmeister will be there, in arms. Ready to do battle with any scalper that stands (or sits in their lazy camping chairs) in my way.

lol Netsolo, why do you refuse to put the Episode II in there? Anyways, I can't wait, I know it will be awesome, but there is another film that's coming up soon that hits home with me even more. wink

Well, around here, our Cineamark refuses to do the midnight showing. So I have to settle with the 10 a.m. showing on the 16th, which is fine for me.

Unless I can land a job at the place, then I could beg for a personal midnight screening smile

I like the toys this time around too, and I can't wait to see whats up with that new red saber, kinda curved.
