The Containment Unit

I am still wondering how the containment unit is working…..

In GB 1 Ray shows Winston how it works. He inserts the trap and then he takes a part of the trap out and closes the Unit.

But what is happening to the part of the trap that is invented???

Whats behind the WALL where the Unit is???

How is the Containment unit working exactly????

Someone knows the answers? Would be very good!!!

The Containment Unit is basically a large chunk of the actual Basement of the firehouse that has been bricked up and fixed by Egon so ghosts can't escape from it. Think of it as a giant jail cell for Ghosts.

The red panel on the front is where they dump the traps. It sucks the Ghosts out of the trap and into the containment area without giving them a chance to escape.

hum… sounds ok… but it has to be BIG room for it…. are the ghost compressed like in the trap??? Or how does the trap come out of the containment unit, because a part is inserted….

Ghosts fly through walls. They're probably stuffed in there on top of, and in, each other. Inhabiting the very same space as each ghost is added.

The area behind the containment unit cant be but a few square feet, and when a ghost is incarcerated it is held in by an electro-magnetic field. Compressing the ghosts, which is basically compressing negative energy, is very dangerous(hence why it exploded when the grid was shut off). The trap is shut off when inserted allowing the ghost through, then it is sucked into the unit and is held by a vacuum(the vacuum and the grid share the responibility of holding the ghosts). Fun stuff eh? smile

Why did they have trouble stuffing the poltergeist that ate Slimer in the containment unit, and how much would it cost to support a containment unit.

We're referring to the Movie's Containment Unit

Your electrical bill would be big enough to kill a man just by glancing at the envelope smile

Not only do you have to power vacuums and electro-magnetic fields but you have to power syzmographs(forgive the spelling smile) to monitor the ground activity(like in the movie). There is more equipment used then meats the eye.
