I love stop motion and all, but for a movie ghostbusters to use it is premature. When the Terror Dog is running across the street from Spook Central to the park. Ugh.

What do you mean “premature”?

Well considering that the film was made in 84. . . in the hay day of stop motion I hardly would deem this “premature.”

Take a look at the Taun Tauns in The Empire Strikes Back. Stop motion all the way. Or even a little film that came out a year before Ghostbusters, Return of the Jedi- the entire forest battle on Endor. Stop motion at its finest.

I just think that rotoscoping would have looked a hell of a lot better. And yes, I am familiar with The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, and they did look awesome, but I'm talking about the Terror Dog's animation, and it looked like it could've been done a lot better.

I do agree that they could have been better, being don by professionals. But in their defense, have you ever tried to do stop-motion? I have, and I can tell you it's not that easy. Granted, I'm no professional, but I couldn't even have done it half as nice given the amount of time they had to work.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 had some pretty sorry stop-motion, and that was 4 years later. The terror dogs running across the street was decent for a movie made in the mid-80s. It's not one of the best, but it's good. smile

i know everyone has a right to an opinion, but…..shut the hell up!!

Ok now it looks dodgy compared to what we can do now, but when i first watched GB1, i thought that scene was actually pretty good.

So be careful what u say, some peeps might take offence to certain things smile

yeah, ok, i'll be careful not to hurt any “peeps'” feelings. Ray Harryhousen did better stopmotion 20 years earlier, though…

I think the problem comes when the remastered the film.. now, I haven't seen any earlier not remastered versons of the film for a while..

But, I believe the problems came when the remastered the film, and effectivly brightened the film.. so the terror dog scene might of looked good when the movie was darker..

But it could just be me..
