I can say around our various events in town we've gone in many stores and gas stations in full gear, usually all of them have security or cops in them either patrolling or just taking a break and they've always been nice and usually opened doors for us and etc. I'm sure it's mainly because Phoenix is just a huge melting pot for all types.

I do remember walking in Wal-Mart once and the door lady seriously saying she didn't realize there was such a huge ghost problem in town.

I was kicked out of Collin Creek Mall in Plano, Texas for the same thing. They said it looked like I had a bomb strapped to my back and even if it was just a prop, they couldn't allow it in the mall. At least these guys were nice about it though. On the way back to my truck, a rent-a-cop car comes racing in my direction full of guards. They pull up and said, “we heard about you no the radio and had to see it.” They actually took pictures with me before I left.

HAHA I went to Wal Mart last weekend around midnight and ya I got kicked out because they sad I was a “threat” to the customers. IM NOT LYING!!! hahaha

I walked in the store with my gear, my friends, and we where running in for a min to get snacks and stuff and so I figured it would be funny to just walk in and get the stuff and ya we where walking on the grocery side of Wal Mart, and the very angry security guard came RUNNING up to me and yelled at me to get out of the store. My friend than took a picture of me when he said that and then he yelled at me for taking pictures!!! (I know you are not allowed to take pictures in Wal Mart) hahah!!! So I asked him why I was being kicked out, (I also said sorry for the pictures being taking) he said because, and I quote, “You are a threat to the customers of Wal Mart!” and I said that is stupid, and turned around and started walking away…….

He then was even more angry, and told me to turn around, and I said why, and then said, “Do you want to me arrest you!” (NO JOKE!) I then claimly asked for a badge, and he had nothing to say to that, so I turned around and walked out!!!

Im not making this up at all. I called the store manager the next day and he apologized to me and then explained to me that, they have a real problem with stealing in the store. So they asked if I wouldnt show in the gear again, and he said he would talk to the security guard about his actions!! haha I did apologized to them for taking pictures at Wal Mart, but the store manager even asked me!!!! To come out on Halloween to take pictures with the stores management because he is a huge fan of Ghostbusters!!! hahah

Dude… That is hilarius!! Only an idiot would do that to someone like you! I honestly would have done what JamesCGamora said to do. Man, it'd be the comedy event of the YEAR! I can see something like that showing up or being mentioned on a Late Night show.

The guy was obviously a dick, and there's no need for the way he was acting, but I can't wrong companies and places for not wanting stuff like that in the mall. I realize they are props and things like that to us, but with the security issues now-a-days, and all the sickos out there, someone could feasibly be dangerous wearing something like that.

If its a planned appearance, sure. But springing it on unknowing customers and employees, who knows how they'll react.

Again, I realize that the guy over-reacted (and that he had no authority to arrest you), but there are of course plenty of people who haven't ever seen or heard of Ghostbusters, and could view it as a threat. After all, it does look very weapon-like, especially to someone who's never seen the movies.

HAHA!!! Well I can say I had to try my suit at other places and lets just say…..I got free pizza from Sailors Pizza “Home of the $5 Pizza” and now Im on their “Heros of the Area”…..haha with fire fighters and cops…..and went to a couple of video stores and got to take my pictures with the ghostbuster movies!!! “Hometown Video” “Where the movies come alive!” haha

As for Wal Mart….haha Im so shopping at Target from now on!!!! haha They are Ghostbuster approved!!

Back in the day when my LARP group was still together, we would make food/repair-supply runs in uniform. Typically for repairs the builder of the broken item had to bring their pack with them to know what to get (all the packs had very few parts in common).

Funny looks? A few times (except from our favorite takeout places, they knew us). Threats of arrest? Actually no…then again, back then both our props as well as the general security theater weren't at the present level.

They probably think its a suicide bomber on the first take with a big honkin proton pack on your back untill they get close enough to see the arm patch then they should know who it is!

ahhhh man am so jealous, you can actually walk around in a GB uniform lol if i did that, i'd get my ass kicked just for looking stupid, drug addicts are mean mean people, my mate got beat up for wearing a slim shady tracksuit, full red, its ridiculous, lol sorry for going off topic, but i want to live by you lol GB for lyfe!!!!

p.s the security at my collage i work at, caught this bike thief, he wrestled him to the ground, and said ‘your under arrest’ then he shouted at this woman to ring the police, and he just sat on top of this guy with his hands held behind his back until the police arrived to take him in, so he never exactly arrested him, just detained him, but said he was under arrest, civilian arrest maybe lol
