Wal Mart + Ghostbusters Gear = BAD IDEA

Maybe that specific Wal-Mart was built by one of Ivo Shandor's minions and they didn't want you inspecting the paranormal activity coming from the portal in its basement.

I had a feeling this would happen to one of us ghost heads one day

They probably think its a suicide bomber on the first take with a big honkin proton pack on your back untill they get close enough to see the arm patch then they should know who it is!

Here's this from back in the day.

Ghostbusters costume triggers airport security
Busted Thursday, October 30, 2003, 12:46 PM by Netsolo

——————————————————————————–
Be careful where you take you're gear for your next bust, you could have airport security and bomb sniffing dogs dragging you off an airplane just as 28 year old Eric Valleca (is that one of our frequent visitors out there?) was taken off his United Airlines flight because his bag contained PVC pipes, radios and batteries with car battery caps attached to them that made them believe the bag contained a bomb.

“Officials had discussed blowing up the case, but decided against it, Velleca said. He added officials had briefly considered pressing charges against him, but said they were polite and professional throughout ordeal.

Velleca, who was able to catch a later flight to Chicago with his costume props, said of them: ‘It wasn’t my idea. I don't even really like the Ghostbusters.'”

Guess he's not a frequent visitor after all. For the full article head to Ananova News.

Maybe you weren't be discrete enough, and they were afraid that if customers saw ghostbusters in the store, they would think that the place was haunted and never come back!

Wal-Mart is haunted by the ghosts of small shop ownners dead dreams…..

Hate to say it but I wouldn't suggest going out in gear too much. It is fun but we really don't need people thinking we're all crazy. Most automatically assume we really think we actually are Ghostbusters.

I agree with Jeff. There are only a few occasions, where I could see fit to walk around in full gear,
1.) Comic-Con
2.) Halloween
3.) Special GB Promotional Events
4.) New York is being terrorized by a 100ft marshmallow man

I would have included B-Day parties, but almost every one who even knows/cares who the GBs are, are (like myself) in there early-to-mid 20's. And, I don't know about some of you guys, but I'm a little old (26) for a GB-themed party…unless Dan and Ernie decide to show up and do the whole song and dance.:-)(*peter)

Honestly most of my running around just consist of just taking pictures around town, and just near creepy stuff anyway. I have contacted some stores in the area about me coming in with my gear and most said as long as I gave them a heads up they would love to see me in there. I.E. Target, Best Buy, and a few others.

I have a friend that works at Best Buy and they may even let me get the first pictures of the game before they put it out on the sale floor , but I was told I would have to go back out and if there was a line get at the end of the line to get the game. haha.

I will say its pretty cool for my friends and me when we are doing test shoots for my upcoming movie (crossing figures that I get to make my own!!!) and people drive by and shout “WHO YA GONNA CALL?” and cops pull up to us and say “Were glad your here to help clean up the streets.” So I guess its just cool to hear people show interest in what your doing, and its cool to hear “looks like a real ghostbuster!!” But the whole Wal Mart thing…honestly….one of the best events to ever happen to me and was totally unexpected reaction!! haha As for that is stated……

BTW—I get a lot of “hey did you know that theyre making a Ghostbusters 3?” Thast my favorite fun fact that everyone tells me, haha, or my favorite question is “Did Ghostbusters have two or three movies all together?” Oh Ive also been asked “Wasnt Ghostbusters first done on SNL with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd?” Im not kidding either but eh, at least, people still remember who we are!

But honestly, I wont go into any stores unless given promission again, but as for wearing it in pubic or around town, heck ya Im gonna wear, I took the time to make the art work, and I want my art work to be shown. I know it make us sound bad, but if people ask me why I do it, its because Im 22 years old and this was my dream to have a Ghostbuster Suit, Proton Pack, and the whole 9 nine yards. My dream has finaly come true, and regardless of what people say Im gonna keep straping on the pack to have fun and get some laughs! I love seeing peoples good reaction to it.

I completely agree.

Specific functions, like rockstar listed, are great, and fun for everyone. But the people who go out on just a regular Tuesday and walk around without any specific purpose (i.e., shooting a fan film, visiting filming locations, etc.), just look weird, and very often as soon as those people are saying “Hey great costume” they're turning around and making fun of you for being dressed up in a costume for no reason.

Yes, we all have dreamed about having the outfit and the props and everything. Of course its fun to wear them, but there's a distinct line between fantasy and reality, and wearing these things for no reason, as if they're normal every day garb, is beginning to cross that line.

To each their own though.

My personal quote is I don't believe in ghosts, I believe in Ghostbusters. Thats why we started doing charity work so we have a legitimate reason to go out in gear. Some people in town were still pretty confused and the local paper put up this article last week on us.
