Velleca, who was able to catch a later flight to Chicago with his costume props, said of them: ‘It wasn’t my idea. I don't even really like the Ghostbusters.'"

hahaha! Brilliant!

See thats the thing…Im not having anyone make fun of me, and if they do who cares, my group of friends are so big and we run around town, have a blast and honestly haha its been a week now since I was in my gear. Am I gonna stop no, Im working on a fan film, working on pictures, I have permission to shoot in these areas that Im really shooting my shoots so you know to me its all good. In other places I totally understand that running around in your gear isnt the best idea or people will make fun of you, but like I said I dont have that problem at all. Infact my group is pretty well known throughout my community, so I guess I can say Im lucky, but if I was still in Phoenix or lived in Detroit, or Chicago, no I wouldnt go out just randomly. But because Im in two small towns and I know most of the people and the government heads, the thoughts of getting made fun of or teased or even harassed in public are not there.

Even with the huge size of Phoenix we're very well known and respected within the community. Like I said, here with the large and various kinds of people most don't even give us a second glance but we just like people to know we don't take it too serious and have normal functioning lives outside of being in gear, though we do go out about twice a month in it. Most of the teams in smaller cities tell me they seem to have alot of problems when going out. If your small town knows and loves you that's great.

Since we do so much, when people ask us to make an appearance they think this is actually our day job. Most are surprised when they call the website phone number and get my cell phone and not an office number. Some really have called or emailed about actual ghosts. Those are always funny. I can only assume because our gear looks legitimate and Ghostbusters in general are alot more realistic than Vulcans and Stormtroopers.

You're not an established franchise until you've had someone seriously ask you about ghosts through email.

Haha, eh at the end of the day its all in the name of fun! You know, I think we should do a Million Ghost Head march on the steps of Wal Mart, demanding equal rights for all people who dress in costume! haha

and having a normal job, you guys dont get paid by Ghostbusters INC? what? Im only making 11,5 a year haha.

jettajeffro I totally respect what you guys do in the community of PHX and you really are a great representation to what a fan of Ghostbusters should be, and the whole group, its great, and that at the end of the day no matter what it is for the charaities and thats the most important thing. Thank you!!!

~Question to the Mod~
But I have one question, do we have permission to say something to people who ask where they came up with the idea or if theres an online “group” that anyone can join, is it okay to say something like “ya theres this great site called ”Ghostbusters.net“ check it out!” Can we do that? Thank you for the heads up on that one.

Some are people who just want attention. Others, just nutballs who come in off the street.

I would have included B-Day parties, but almost every one who even knows/cares who the GBs are, are (like myself) in there early-to-mid 20's. And, I don't know about some of you guys, but I'm a little old (26) for a GB-themed party…unless Dan and Ernie decide to show up and do the whole song and dance.:-)(*peter)

darn and my nephew wanted he-man at his next party

Just a thought, you can go pretty much anywhere in your flight suit, elbow pads, belt stuff, etc, as long as you don't wear your pack into places where it might be seen as a ‘threat’. I met one of my friends at a Burger King last year and, just for fun, wore my costume, sans the pack, and everyone knew what I was supposed to be. After meeting with my friend, I showed him my pack in the back of my car, so it was just as good as wearing it in and figuring out how to sit down with that thing on or risk getting it broken.

When people ask where your pack is, just tell them you're off duty or not wearing it until you get a call.
