Hero, or Superhero?

before you answer, concider this in your judgement. Batman is classified as a Superhero, even though he is as mortal as us, only with a mask. what does this have to do with this? well, does a mask and a good costume make you a Superhero? i believe not, and since the GBs and Batman are on the same level, but have somewhat of a different classification, i cant seem to make uop my mind.

post your beleifs.

A Superhero is someone I think of with superpowers, and superpowers are things the GBs don't have. They're different type of heros, classified by themselves.

Batman's a superhero because he has skills and tools. A friend of a friend once said Batman buys super powers. I'd definately say that the Proton Packs make the Ghostbusters Super Heroes

I like to think of them as super heros because no one else can do what they do. When your house is haunted by a ghost, who ya gonna call? The police can't do anything. The fire department can't do anything. There's only one group of people who can help: THE GHOSTBUSTERS! They're the only ones that can really help you when something supernatural or paranormal happens. That makes them “super”.

The Ghostbusters are some-what super hero's, but in a class unto their own. Remeber they have saved this wolrd( heck even this dimension) countless times. I believe they have earned taht honour.

i think the only reason that the boys in gray aren't classified as superheroes is because they don't fight mortal enemies. Needless to say, they kick some major paranormal ass, though.

Well if you go only on the movies, the guys only saved the world twice. This of course made them heroes, but not super heroes. Besides that, they are normal guys who perform a service, like carept cleaners, except they investigate and “clean up” ghosts. To me the major appeal is that they are completely normal guys who are doing an unusual job. A SuperHero to me has certain characteristics that make them some what virtuous, moral, etc. The GB's are good people, but not overly moral the way Superman may be, they drink beer, smoke, swear on ocassion, and hit on women (I'm describing things for all the guys, I know Egon doesn't hit on women the way Peter does). My point is that they are heroes the way fire fighters and police are heroes in times of disaster (9/11), other than that, normal guys, just like you and me.

Well batman only buys his powers. Green Lantern makes his ring. Wonder women makes those silver gauntlets. I consider them heros cause they make their own equipment, they save people, and the kids love 'em.

Well at least everyone seems to agree that they're some type of hero. I'd have to say that the whole superhero/hero deal gets a little iffy on this topic. Although I'm not sure if I'd throw them on the same level as Superman or not. I'm going to have to go with what someone else said on this one, they're their own type of hero.
