what type of heros are the Ghostbusters?

Nah… they aren't really superheroes, but they are heroes in the movies. Superheroes save many people on a daily basis, while the Ghostbusters just bust ghosts that bother people… rarely if ever are their clients in danger.

They are Anti-heroes. Anti-heroes are defined as heroes, that are not perfect.

I guess you could call them anti-heroes, but I don't think that's quite what they are.

I've always considered them science-heroes, like DC's Starman or Blue Beetle. Heroes who don't have any innate powers of their own (like Superman), but have created powerful tools, tools that exceed normal technology levels, to do whatever it is they do - fight monsters, villans, aliens, whatever.

I think the proton packs, among other things, put them in this catagory.
