When you were a kid...

Ah yes the days of childhood… So fun, yet so sad in a way for me. I used to play with my RGB toys all the time, I'd dress up in my ghostbusters jumpsuit, slap on the proton pack, PKE, and trap and head out to bust some ghosts… But I really had to play Ghostbuster all alone when I was a kid (I really didn't have many friends, still don't to this day. And the VERY FEW that I did have wern't into the Ghostbusters), so when I was at the park, I was the lone ghostbuster…

Wow, “Lone Ghostbuster”, that's depressing. It's ok Egon you got all the buddies you need now. Now for my tale:

It started when i was in an afterschool program that basically took care of kids in the gym of my school until our parents got out of work to pick us up. One day we had this think were there was a video camera and we had our oportunity to be filmed doing a situation of our choice. (this was a while back, I was like 9-10, I don't remember the details). So then and there I decided that me and my three other friends were gonna do a ghostbusters music video. (The most bootleg video ever created. lol) So we had a week to gather our things. By the tme filming came around there was only one other person besides me with a jumpsuit. We all had the normal gear of corse. Proton Packs and traps. I managed to attach my PKE Meter to the holder on the back of the pack. We went walked into a class room and starting setting up. The song we used was Bobby Browns “Have to take Control” from ghostbusters 2. Yes a bunch of little white kids lip syncing to 80's rap music. So we pressed the tape got into postions. We attempted a Ghostbusters 2 movie pose (The one off the poster where two GB's had slime blowers and the other two had regular proton packs..it also had Dana behind Winston and Venkman). The music hit. We began singing. We then mimicked ghost catching. We pointed our litte guns in the air. Some of us (including me) had the long yellow foam sticking out the end. We waved it around. I think I hit the guy behind me in the head. But this one kid who was with us..wanted the spotlight. He got in everyones way as much he possibly could. You could even see him shoving people out of the way in the video. After getting shoved and near knocked down..it was time for our mock of the Ghostbusters dance (The one at the end of the Ray Parker Jr. Video with the GB's and Ray Parker struting) We did so…and made it look good even!..then we killed it by attempting to do hip-hop dancing. You guessed it, the ol' white kid doin the highstep like Dion Sanders only in place and acting like it's cool. Then for the big grand finale. We get back into the “pose” and I drop to one knee sticking both arms out while holding the gun in one hand, and I proceeded to sing with a smile the rest of the lyrics as the other remaining guys pointed there shoulders towards the camera no-ghost logo first. We got a chance to look at the video after it was over and I must said it was pretty good for four little kids. (no guy to play winston. I was pissed) The next day we showed the tape featuring our video and various other segments to the rest of kids. We all gathered around the TV. The big moment finally comes. The video plays and the whole room is laughing. You see my whole goal in doing this video was to hopefully impress a girl that was that I grown a liking to. She liked video, but ultimately showed no intrest in me. All in all, my music video making experince made me feel that much closer to the Ghosbusters legacy.

Hi, when i was at school in germany (dad in the RAF), myself and a couple of me friends would act out the last scene from the first movie. The school had trees and bushes etc, so we used dive into them and stuff when we made up our own stories.

I use to have a friend named Ruebon and we would strap the proton pack son our backs and use his go-kart to get around and bust the ghosts.

I remember this one time they were redoing the walls in his room and so they didnt finish for a week and so there was holes all in his wall (not to the outside, just to the inner wall) so we grabbed 2 rolls of toliet pape a marker and rubberbands and for 4 hours one day made little ghosts and dropped them down into the walls.

Even today, though i don;t know him anymore, i know his parent still live in the house with the couple hundred toilet paper ghosts in the wall.

He was what best friends were supposed to be.
