I always see countless posts about this very thing. who here does have a fully funtional prop and if so what power sources do you use? this may clear up some things.

LED Chaser Kit
That's what I'm using for my Cyclotron, it works great, fully adjustable speed.
For the Powercell I'm going to be buying from Hyperdyne.
I haven't found an effective way to do sounds yet, but when i do I'll post it on my website. Hyperdyne also sells sound kits.

Dan, The hyperdyne set comes with the cyclotron lights as well. The cyclotron LEDs are connected to the board header and some wire is run to the cyclotron area. You might just want to stick with the hyperdyne kit. Although, I do like the price of the one you have.

Actually Jim (Hyperdyne Owner) does sell just the power cell lights. Trust me, I checked it all out! 
Back- you can use the LED Chaser kit in the power cell too, but you wouldn't get the accurate effect.

my power source? well i got a lil sound and a lil lights too. not completely accurate - but it does the job. the power sources are unreal though, 2 6V batteries on the back = alot of weight! LOL. but due to the strap and pack belt design i have on it she hurts nothing and the only thing that kills me at the end of the night are my feet. my boots hurt like hell!

Hyperdynes Power Cell lights come with the cyclotron lights. All you need are wires and 4 red leds. They plug right into the powercell light board.
