I'm just wondering who around here makes the best computer generated proton streams? Not necesarily animated, just streams. Please post examples with the name. I'd prefer not to hear “johnsmithgbfan makes the best” with no picture to back it up. There's no real reason for this, I just want to see the streams that are going around.

It's a program that runs about 60 US dollars, and delivers high quality, built in, and easy to create special FX. Totally user friendly, and a very easy learning curve. Best of all, one of the things the program does inherently is, you guessed it, PROTON STREAMS! And they're DAMN GOOD. Check out the site…you should be able to find some test clips of the streams here and there. The best ones are naturally the ones created by pro's and not mom and dad over a PC with too much spare time. Look for a clip called “AlamDV 2 Trailer”. Some nice examples there. Hope this helps!

Sparksmovies is right! The Alamdv2 streams rock! However I can only use them in the demo version, I'm to lazy to save up and buy the full version. I wish someone would make a ghost trap ‘suck in beam’ plugin. I could use that!

the only problem is now, yu can't d/l the plugin without paying for the main product…

thankfully, I d/led the plugin and the demo before this happened…

btw: d/l = download & d/led = downloaded for those who don't know…

I take it you people don't read posts before replying. I wanted to know WHO, not WHAT. And I wanted visual examples. But thank you for your replies anyways.

If you want to be technical about it, the creators of AlamDV are no more than a couple of humble mid 20-somethings who've popped around various FX boards numerous times, and created this program based on THEIR work as an aid to all the schmoes that dont know diddly about rotoscoping or CGI. So, from a technical standpoint, THEY are the best, and have plenty of media (pictures and video) on their site to back it up. And just like anyone else, they have a certain inherent fee for their services- only their services come packaged in a nice program for all to use. Now, if you want to talk about individual streams, I'm sure a ton of people can send you their Photoshop enhanced versions, most of which MIGHT look half decent. But who cares? The real trick is in rotoscoping a quality stream over several hundred (sometimes thousand) frames of video or film. And that's where I can guarantee almost nobody here can help you. A simple 5 minutes of video can equate to more than a month's worth of full-time labor- no joke. So have anyone you want send you pics…post em' up as your wallpaper if you like. But don't expect that kind of thing to be reproduced on a frame by frame basis. Oh- and next time you ask for someone's help, you should consider ANY response a favor, from one human being to another. Insulting someone's intelligence because you didn't get the precise response you hoped to elicit is a pretty mean spirited thing to do.

I wasn't really insulting anyone, and I don't want them to be put in a movie. I thanked those who answered me. See, all I was wondering was who on the board does cgi photoshop beams and how good are they. Why? Because I do beams myself and I'm trying to perfect it.
