Peck is a total jerk, Hardemeyer is just a weasel, pure weasel.
Peck=jerk
Hardemeyer=weasel

Hardemeyer, all the way. I found Peck quite amusing, but Hardemeyer … well, he's just annoying.

I liked the Peck character. Atherton is a great actor besides. I can't stand Hardemeyer, although I like Kurt Fuller as an actor as well (he was hilarious in Scary Movie).

Peck seemed to start out open minded, just doing his job. Then Venkman made him mad. But Hardemyer was a dork from the beginning.

Walter Peck was totally a bigger jerk than Hardemeyer.

Walter Peck actually wanted to shut down the Ghostbusters, and did so temporarily by shutting down the containment grid, where all Hardemeyer did was have the Ghostbusters committed. Something that at least could be reversed. Walter Peck's actions however, could not.

So, in my eyes, Walter Peck was a far bigger jerk than Hardemeyer ever will be.

I don't know… I thought that while Hardemeyer was a jerk, he was just doing his job by keeping the GBs from going to the press with their story. Peck was out to get the Ghostbusters from day one though, you could tell by his first confrontation with Venkman.

Peck was the biggest jerk. At least Hardemeyer kind of repented at the end (he is amongst the crowd singing outside the museum). Peck never did. In fact in one of the deleted scenes, while the GB are up on the building saving the world, Peck is on the street urging police to arrest the them!
