So I was reading on another forum I post at when a member posted a picture of some home made proton streams for the Matty figures he had come up with. Like me, he hadn't been able to get any of the 6" figures that had came with streams so far so had come up with his own simple but effective design. I really wanted to try and make my own so here's a picture of my version 1 proton stream.




It's a long way from perfect but i only had a few materials and I have to say i'm pretty pleased with it so far, it's a good starting point atleast! Not my idea, I just copied it.

I saw that as well a while back, I thought then and still do that it could benefit from a little yellow or white in the beam.

Whilst I totally agree it would look much better with some yellow my customization skills are so limited, especially my painting, haha!

So…..PKE meters were apparently part of the Mad Matty sale, that would explain why there was no international postage. I'm not 100% on this but a few people have claimed to have had PKE metres and possibly even a 12" figure.

There's a photo of a pack containing one PKE, which lends creedance to the belief.

And I'm in agreement with AJ that it's a disappointing discovery, due to reports of fans not being successful in being able to replace their PKEs which have suffered from a technological issue.


I wish the company would be a bit more honest with us, as it's all in our best interests to see the line continue.
There's plenty of doubt over which figures are genuinely selling out over simply being marked as “sold out”, which hasn't helped Mattel's own claims that the line wasn't performing as well as they were expecting in some areas… and to our eyes, each figure had been a hit.

There's an old saying: “This is no way to run an airline.” And this, in the light of current merchandise offers, is the situation that Matty has us facing. Of course we're all happy that we are getting decent, quality figs and ect..after decades of waiting. That's not the issue. Telling the truth to your customers is. If Matty wants to tell us something is sold out-and it truly isn't-well, that's not right;that's not fair-and it's just too bad. Especially if PKE meters and 12“ figs are showing up in $40 ”grab bags". I hope it's the exception rather than the rule of what exactly what WAS offered for a mere $40.
And to close…I am hopeful that the prop replica/toy Matty gives us for the holidays is indeed a trap.

I just got my Winston w/ Slime blower today… and I´m hoping the prop replica this year it´s a Ghost trap too.

I think I'm with Ben on the disappointment over the PKE Meter still being out there. Mattel's got a really screwed up system with what's “sold out” and what's just not available at the moment. Like I've said before - if it's still available - then have it for sale on the darn website. That way people who came to this line late can get what's still out there. I've seen several posts from people who were not given a replacement PKE Meter when the original one they were sent was defective because it was “sold out.” Now the fact that it's showing up in the grab bag is garbage.

Add the fact that apparently the 12 inch GBII 2-packs have been pushed back again for no apparent reason, just adds to the frustration over Mattel's handling of this line.

Overall, I do like the figures I have in my hands, but Mattel's management of the line and customer service is absolutely horrible.

^^ This. I don't understand the rationale behind holding back stock and not even replacing damaged items, only to reveal the hoarded stuff in a way that's guaranteed to piss people off. The mystery sale was a disaster, I was on the site at 122 and it was showing up as Sold Out.

Every other e-commerce site I use lowers prices if something has been up for too long, and that moves the extra stock. Not ‘mystery sales’.
