My winston arrived two days ago and finally went to the post office to get it, it looks very nice, I think that mine has a smudge of black paint on one of the green tanks, but it look really neat it looks like a worn out effect or thats how supposed to be?

Anyone seen the bundle all star sale???

http://www.mattycollector.com/store/matty/en_US/DisplayShopperDefinedBundlePage/OfferID.8036946909

I am a little ticked off by this, because they tell us the figures are exclusive and there's a limited quantity, and next thing they are on sale every other day. I mean I was very proud I had exclusive that weren't on sale on stores. But Now everybody is selling them on ebay and stuff. So maybe next year I will not be renewing the sub and I will no be killing my self for buying them right away.

I don't think I get it. Either Mattel is stockpiling figures OR they are selling out. How in the world can both be true?
They can't.
I have to stop thinking about this because it's sucking the joy right out of my GB collecting. When it stops being fun and rewarding, I'm done.
So go ahead Mattel..keep doing business like you and Digital River are these days and you'll soon have plenty of figures on your hands.
Oh and one last thing: With collectibles? It's a buyer's market.

It's been speculated that they're marking the poorer selling figures as “sold out” regardless of them actually selling out or not.

I just don't get how they have any of the 12" figures left. The only one I bought was Venkman. I am really considering getting the other three the only thing is that the market has really dropped out of these guys and I just don't want to spend that kind of money for something that has no future in going back up if they are just going to keep finding more.

It concerns me quite a bit these days at how often the resale value is considered… does nobody buy a toy anymore for keeps?

I do, I think the trick is to take it out of the packaging and put it on display that should get rid of any idea of selling it off again.

I know Matty are very secretive on the amount of each product they produce and how many they sell. They say they keep a certain amount back for people who need items swapped if they arrive damaged or go missing.
It just goes to prove that they are probably telling lies when they say an item is Sold Out.

To be honest I can see the Ghostbusters line finishing very soon, due to poor sales and lack of investment. They have already said that the amount of internationl buyers is very low and we should be lucky we get anything at all as these items are for the US market only, but they do offer shipping to some countries.

Just look at the amount of times items have been pulled recently from the schedules, I think if they get low sales for the 2 pack 12" figures, Marshmellow Man and Sub for next year they will probably close the line.

This… especially if you're only buying one of each. Are you not a Ghostbusters fan, or a Ghostbusters collector? You're only interested in the resale value? Because if you are a fan, and a collector, being able to buy them for the regular price again should be exciting to you since you missed out on them the first time.

the thing is if I got to walmart and they have the 12“ figures for twenty bucks ya I'd buy them for my kids and play with them. But if I have to pay sixty dollars for a ”toy" it really isn't a toy it's a collectors item. If I'm going to pay 60 I want to know that in the future if need be I can turn around and sell it and get my money back plus hopefully more. As of now that doesn't appear to be happening with the Matty line since the 12'' Venkman has been sold for less then 60 new in box on Ebay.

I would like to state that at first we all wanted subs, but now I think the subs are a bad idea for this line, because they keep selling retools of other figures and diferent heads and charged our card for figures that we kind of dont like, someone on this forums (can't quote who) said that a good collection doesn't need every figure released, I had a star wars collection and I bought the ones I liked, if I bought every figure relesed I'be broke, you know how many star wars figures had been released ? They should give us the figures that are left like vigo, zhuu, etc. and finish the line like the “The Dark Knight” MM line, they released a couple of nice figures and then again made a couple more and they finished with Two Face the one that everyone wanted. with that said a sub for 2012 would be a waste of money………….. unless matty proves me wrong.
